Im going to pass up on all the sack the coach/Romo is crap/doom and gloom talk and ask after the start weve had and the tough schedule ahead what mark would make a playoff spot in this years NFC?

Even though its hard to see where the next win is coming from i think we will split the diviion games - so that will take us to 4-5 which means we would have to win out to claim the division and maybe no more than 1 more loss to snatch a wildcard.

No I think the Giants are going to make a serious run. If the eagles follow, GB turns things around and who ever emerges after the Falcons, and the last messed up NFC division, i dont feel 9-7 will be enough unless more teams implode than fix their problems.

Right now GB is not GB, but they were doomed last year too, and with teh Vikings not being any good, I think its still possible GB can get distance on the division.

I think the Giants and Eagles will turn things around before us.

The Falcons are living the high life right now.

And the west is just screwy.

Still to early to tell, but i have a bad feeling the Eagles and Giants foil everything for us.

I do think 9-7 could get you a wild card and possibly a division title. The NFC is very average right now. The key is if the Cowboys go 9-7 they need to go 4-1, 5-0 in the rest of the division games because with a record of 9-7 that is going to involve tiebreakers. Also winning next Sunday against Minnesota an NFC team wouldn't hurt either.

I think he was implying for a WC spot, not to win the division or get a bye or homefield. So, if Atlanta and GB runaway, that matters not. And even if the Giants and Eagles go, there is still another wild card spot, and nobody is really jumping out there (except Chicago who will crash back down over the course of the season). And our oh so difficult schedule is not as tough as many thought (GB, Min, NO, Indy all have major issues and have struggled a lot).

According to playoffstatus.com, right now a 9-7 final record would give us a 36 percent chance of making the playoffs. A 10-6 record would give us an 82 percent chance of making the playoffs. Of course, which teams we beat or lose to would make a difference.

One good thing is that we've played only one division game so far, so we can help ourselves a lot by winning the rest of our division games. We're only one game out of first place in the loss column. I know, I know, we're playing stupid and undisciplined football and need to get a lot better, but just in terms of the standings, we're not far behind.

a better way of putting it. I stand corrected.

It's over. this is not a playoff team. if he were still alive. Ray charles could see that. AGAIN, IT"S OVER.

Just looking at the NFC, I think 8-8 might get us in as a WC.

Limp in at 9-7.
Get lucky and win enough playoff games to get to SB so that we can get thoroughly embarassed in NEW stadium. Probably by the Stealers. That would payback to Jerry for SBXXX with Neil O'donnell/Larry Brown.

Excellent! I always wanted to move out of NY, anyway. lol

I don't think 9-7 will get the Boys into a wild card, best hope is a 9-7 or
10-6 divison win. I see only one team coming out of the East this year.

What difference would it make? Though they seem to play better on the road, I dont see em winning a road play off game.
