Would a SB win change the narrative from the media?

I was listening to The Fan yesterday and they were debating if it would. Stephen A and the Lesean McCoy’s of the world have made careers on hating the Cowboys. What would happen to their “acts” if we finally won the whole thing?

One of the host said they would just move the goalpost, and said do it again. Or that was a fluke.

What do you think? I mean to be fair it’s been almost 30 years. Lots of time to build careers.

Hell nah.

They are into profits...not changing narratives to be friendly to a team.

Yes… The Cowboys winning a SB would change the narrative for Dak’s legacy, and for the “25 + years of futility” thing, and for the “Cowboys gonna Cowboy” choke narrative.

Winning the super bowl changes everything short term.

Next year, they will be right back to where they are now.

Who cares about the media, it would certainly change this fan’s narrative.

I completely agree. I thought it was a unique topic since all the talking heads love to bag on us.

To win the SB Dallas would have to beat either Baltimore of Buffalo and SF. It should change the narrative. But I think the odds of Dallas beating any of those 3 teams is very small right now.

How about we beat Green Bay this week first and we'll see what happens after that?

The media is 50 percent BS ,but for this fan since 1973 , it would be very special. The media surprises me at times they talk positive of Dallas , and then go negative against them quickly. The media is entertainment

If/when the Cowboys win another Super Bowl, the media will hype them but constantly remind everyone of every missing player the other team had, every injury players from the other team suffered during the game (adding "early in the game" as much as possible), every call that went against the other team or for the Cowboys, etc.

It has less to do with Cowboys bias or hate and more to do with appeasing non-Cowboys fans who will eat up any arguments they can make to their Cowboys friends .. because they all have them regardless of where they live.

Great post. That’s what the host meant by moving the goalpost.

the media would continue. their goal would be to cheapen the win, they would put an asterisk next to it. Cowboys mean audiences. the fact that 11 of the top 50 most watched programs this year on TV and that'a any program was the cowboys tells you a lot. people either hate or love cowboys and there is never a shortage of taling points.

I'm not going to worry about those that really don't realize why porta potties were invented...and don't think that is English.

The Cowboys don't get paid for the comments of negative sports media. Not by this fan as well.

Win Cowboys!

They stir the pot. Not provide good and motivational references. I see their lips moving, I know it's a lie.

Come on dude, you know the real answer to that. They will find any metric to nitpick and unfairly criticize the organization because negativity sells. Especially, Dallas Cowboy negativity. And this applies to any form of media.

TLDR: No, negativity sells.

I for one could care less about watching a media idiot like Skip perform on tv. If I turn into show it is to hear Sports news about my teams, and others in the wide world of sports. I can put up with SAS/Greenie/Saturday/Sharpe, but can't give a listen to Skip/Keyshawn for more than 2 minutes and Skip/Michael are Cowboy lovers. Heck, I can watch more of The Carton Show than Undisputed. I would find it odd if some listen to McCoy and SAS because of their fake hatred of a team, I think Nick Wright does the best job as being an objective sports fan and could care less about insluting the AR's of the world that the ESPN morons would never do
