Would A Train had made a differnce?

Would A Train had made a differnce down by the goal line at the end of the game in those last 4 plays. Julius wasn't getting off in this game and A Train is a bigger stronger runner in short yardage situations. Just wondering about this.

If we are going to continue blocking like we have been doing, we might as well just send Thomas out there to mindlessly pound for three yards a pop.

...there would have just been a bigger collision at the line of scrimmage, but he wasn't going to elude the Oakland defenders.

Has Thomas even gained a yard this season? It seems like all his carries net in a 0-yard gain. I don't think including him on the inactive list was a poor move, really.

The 3 backs that are active should be Jones, Thompson, and A-Train.

I see no reason at this point to have Barber activated.

Considering that we ran a power running game against Oakland...

Yes. He would have made a difference. Why run speed backs up the middle over and over? If you are going to pound the ball up the middle every running play, use your power runner.

Simple, really.

I have to agree with you. I would add that we should also use A-train as a full back if the tight ends are not getting the job done as blockers and Parcells is not going to dress our fullback for the game.

I agree.

A-Train should be our 3rd down back because he is very good at picking up the blitz and he is our best wr out of the backfield.

But we won't do that because it is smart.

Yeah, considering Parcells said both of the rookies screwed up in their blitz pick-ups, I bet Thomas could have helped in that regard. I think he might be a better 3rd down back than Barber because he is a good blocker and a solid receiver, but Parcells says he can't play him because he doesn't play special teams. Says the same thing about Price too. Parcells is obsessed about special teams and how that influences the roster, yet maybe he hasn't noticed, but the special teams look below average to me so far.

AGREED! A-train gets you the yard when you need it, not try to run sideways a la Barber today...

Why aren't we playing A-Train? Is he in the BP doghouse for some reason?

It's really strange that last year BP plays slower then slug EG because he didn't "trust" Rashard Lee yet this year he is willing to play 2 rookies.

no way thompson or barber should be in as blockers on 3rd down... they are huge liabilities in pass protection.

Obviously it never occurred to you that the very reason why Reshad Lee is out of football right now is the same reason why Coach Parcells never trusted him.

What does this have to do with what I said? Who cares if Rashard Lee is in the league or not.

Fact of matter is BP didn't trust Lee's ability to pass block. As BP put it , ".plays where he doesn't have the ball".

Yet BP is playing 2 rookies this year. Thomson missed a blitz pickup today.
Barber made a several mistakes on kickoffs few games ago.

These rookies are making mistakes on "...plays where they don't have the ball". Yet they are being played by BP instead of A-train.

I find that very strange.

I'd go along with that.

A-Train isn't getting his just pt because he doesnt play ST and BP wants to break in the puppies.
But A-Train is a solid option for blitz pickup, receiving and smart running.
