Would an 0-2 start surprise you?

While I’m trying to approach this season from an optimistic perspective, the more I step back and look at the current circumstances, the more worried I become.

I’m looking at a rookie left tackle with limited reps, a reputation for holding, and recovering from a high ankle sprain lining up to plan B at left guard.

I’m looking at a receiving group in flux, waiting for its’ #2 to be able to play recovering from major knee surgery.

And I’m also looking at a tough start to the season via scheduling.

I can’t help but to think that we will be spending most of the season clawing back from an 0-2 deficit.

How does everyone else feel?

not at all...playing one of the best NFC teams and the defending AFC champ - honestly, i feel if we get to 1-1 it will be a win to start the season.

However, you never know, if moore has game planned well to adjust for the oline issues the defense could give us the upper hand to at least stay compeititve until the oline starts to build some cohesion...

honestly, i think the game plan is key to having a shot at a w in the first two weeks....but i really worry about weeks 3 and 4 as well given NFCE games can go either way. Hate to say it, but there is a realistic scenario that has us start 0-4....i do think 2-2 would be good and anything 3+ in the win column would be stellar

In the last handful of seasons, Dallas and many of their fans started the season with talk of Super Bowl so in a strange way starting the season with reservation or concern may be a welcome change. Should Dallas start the season 0-2 so be it so long as we do not see significant injuries as a result of being unprepared from a personnel stand point (which would be on Jerry & Co.).

I agree 0-2 is probably most likely. This Oline is in serious trouble, last time it was this bad we had an RT whose first name was Alex, and most will remember his play in the Vikings playoff game. It's not fun getting old and having these memories. Hit the thumbs up if you remember how that felt.

I can’t help but to feel that we’re already “unprepared from a personnel standpoint” based on both the offensive line and wide receiver positions.

worked for our SB team after 22 held out..sounds like a perfect situation. Gallup returns we go on a run. Rather have rough start and strong finish we did it in 2018 which helped to be hitting on all cylinders late,

I like the direction they're taking. Actually more interested in how the defense looks in those two games.

I think the defense is clearly the strength of this team. And based on what I’ve seen and heard, they realize it as well and intend to rely heavily on that.

Jerry mentioned relying on the running game specifically which makes sense with a shaky offensive line. It reminds me of a few years back when they did much the same. Try to control the flow and tempo with the run game and protect what was then a suspect defense. Now, if the ‘D’ can hold up their end, they might be able to dictate better circumstances.

so for what 1-3 games before Gallup returns and TS73 gets some experience we have a stronger run game, defense and special teams. BTW the WR room is not that undermanned if you factor in Turpin and pollard as slot options and lamb is a #1 vs what happened in 18..once again Gallups back by game 3 .. yes OL is a question and a concern, but other teams have overcome it so can we.

Maybe a little, but not much
  • We get both games at home
  • The Bucs have had even more injury issues than we have
  • The Bengals have some issues too, including the QB coming back from an appendectomy a few weeks ago.
If I had to guess, I'd say 1-1

I think all three teams will be better later this year

0-2 is happening. We have proven over the years that we cannot beat a Brady led team. Cincy will be extra motivated and ready. I see 0-2, MAYBE 0-3, then the Fire MM stuff heats ^ quickly.
