Would Boise/TCU get to defend title?

Let's say TCU or Boise wins it all this year, and then goes undefeated next year...

But an SEC team and a Big ten team both go undefeated as well. Wouldn't Boise/TCU not be able to defend their title even though they went undefeated again?

What a nightmare scenario.

Unfortunately, a no loss SEC team will always trump anyone else.

Winning a championship and going undefeated the next year entitles you to defend your championship? Not in the BCS era.
