Doubtful. He was literally the only GM/Owner who would have hired Schotty this pass offseason.

He is his hand picked HC just like Flus was his hand picked DC. So if you are keeping score Jerry really the HC. BS is the OC and picked his offensive staff. Jerry picked Flus as the DC and let him pick his defensive staff.
 
Nobody even interviewed Schotty. They know a high school coach when they see one. Jerry views him as the next Jimmy Johnson :facepalm:

Last 3 games, correct. But wouldn't it be nice if our offense had help? Like a short field. A int. A pick 6 . A fumble recovery. A PR td. Problem is, we are way too reliant on Dak and the offense to have 80 yard drives. Ridiculous. It's a team sport. You need all 3 phases to pitch in to win. Against the good teams, you get exposed if you are deficient in defense and special teams. That's why the 3 game slide.
 
Shotty isn't a bad HC. Not sure anyone can win with these players on defense. Or this DC. I've seen jr college players give better effort and coverage. We just won't tackle or cover. We avoid the contact.

i know but in theory, as head coach the offense is only 1/3 of his responsibility.
ultimately he is in charge of def and ST too. Or he would be in a normal environment anyway
 
Jerry stuck with Garrett for 9 seasons and Dak for ten seasons…I think Shotty is safe just by previous precedents alone.

Not so sure now. Typically your right. But from Jerry's point of view, he's running out of time on this earth. I don't think he feels like being patient like before. He might go ahead and pull the plug quickly. Only caveat is this, he pulls the plug if he feels he has a big fish he can bring in here to right the ship. A proven guy. Shotty is my guy. Love the hire but I can envision a scenario where he cans him. Nothing would shock me. We been outright embarrassed for 3 weeks straight. Two at home. It matters a lot.

Many here said 10 years ago that we'd never win with Dak but acknowledged we'd waste over a decade trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Our head coach is no different.

I'm not a Shotty apologist, but I do think he deserves another year with a more (defensive) talented team. I thought the offensive side of the ball was good enough to win games with. My one concern is that he hasn't shown he can win a big game....but again.....the team had a terrible defense.

Fire Eberflus, hire a good DC, hit free agency hard and heavy, have a good draft, and then let's see how things shake out.
