Just thinking outside the box a bit, but reading JJ's comment that this is "far from over" and "the team, and the Cowboys" support Zeke, makes me wonder how far he would go to fight this. He said something along the lines of "we lost this round". He also recognized that the commissioner has the authority to suspend players but said it had to be done "fairly."
The Cowboys are part of a collective entity known as the NFL so at first glance it sounds as if I'm suggesting a part of the league sue itself, but Al Davis had a history of suing the NFL and did win one time.
I think it is possible. Jerry Jones makes a lot of money marketing his franchise apart from the NFL, and if the NFL unfairly puts his franchise at a competitive disadvantage, he stands to lose money, thus "damages" would be in order.
As a lawyer, I can see a separate suit being filed in Texas by the Dallas Cowboys, seeking an injunction to prevent irreparable harm to the franchise. I'm sure the NFL would want to consolidate the suit into the pending case in New York, but though grounded in the same process, you have a different party with a different claim.
Is Jerry Jones waiting on the final outcome of Zeke's case before he takes it on himself? Or am I suggesting "tilting at windmills?"
I would like someone in the media to ask Jerry Jones if he would consider it, if it appears Zeke will not be on the playing field against SF. He is already in the Hall of Fame, all he stands to lose is money. (yes, easy for me to say.LOL)
