Would like these 3 players back

Carl Lawson a nice vet rotational at edge seemed to deliver consistent pressure and his ex Jet positional coach now in Dallas speaks highly of having coached him in NY .

Eric Kendrick’s again a smart vet knows his position and seems to make the younger LB’s better to have him in the middle . Seems to always be in the center of turnovers .

Rico Dowdle almost 1100 yards as an UDFA playing and running behind a young inconsistent OL . Dowdle had better pass catching skils then I thought he had having seen so little of him until 2024 .

When I hear 20 million per for OSA thrown around I’m of the opinion get a quality DT on a rookie contract in the draft instead .

The three FA I mentioned should be affordable and allow you to stretch the 10 draft picks in the deck of cards further .
Of all those guys, I would want Osa the most but I have serious doubts the Jones are willing to pay market price. Dowdle will cost too much. He has probably priced himself out of Dallas and although I like Rico I’m not thrilled with idea of paying him more to be a part timer. Lawson probably has the best chance of staying IMO.

think they need Lewis and Osa back. But I feel like OSA will cost too much for Jerry who will not even make an attempt to re-sign him.

I worry even Golston will cost more than Jerry will pay. We will go into the 2025 draft with so many areas of need, and desperation, the will botch the draft again.

When using free agency to shore up holes is not an option, you almost smother your draft with too many needs making the draft become a pressure cooker for every single roster need we have. It’s bad front office practice.

Because 2 drafted RBs are cheaper than Dowdle at $5-6M.
True, but do you really want to use an additional draft pick on a RB on day 3?

Sign Dowdle and draft a RB on day 2 and call it good.

Jlew needs to be brought back. We are thin at CB spot as is, Osa needs to be brought back, we've only 1 DT under contract right now. osa fits Eberflus scheme. Lawson should be brought back

Dwodle can go. A Rookie and another USDA can man the spot at less cost. Until this year Dwodoe has been hurt guy every year. This is a deep draft at RB, with 35 backs having a draftable grade, you will get a player at least equal to Rico as an udfa.

Should double dip at DT with both a 1t and a 3 T

Kendricks should be a no brainer, his leadership and play both are much needed at a thin spot.

It all depends, Rico could price himself out, and I'm not going to overvalued Rico either. We'll see how it plays out, but all options should be on the table. Y'all clinging to Rico mighty hard and it's not that serious.

Lawson and Kendricks will be fine to bring back, but still need to draft a LB or 2, and sign another FA LB. They will probably use one of the 5th round picks on a DE, then tell they got value, but never will be an impact like they say. Need to get one to replace DLaw (if they don't bring him back). I know Kneeland is supposed to be that player.

Dowdle, only if at a reasonable price. Draft a RB, and sign a FA RB other than camp fodder.

A few others already posted about.
Lewis, yes must have him back, and he wants to be here.
Osa, for a reasonable price. Let him test the market, then match the offer if reasonable. I don't think there will be a big demand for him, unless Quinn will overpay.
Still draft a DT.

Way too many needs to say where to draft what player. DT, DE, LB, maybe OL, RB, #2 WR, CB with Diggs being out for awhile.

Lawson on the cheap is a good rotational guy.
Kendricks will remain a starter because of zero depth
Dowdle would be OK to have, but probably get the same talent in the 6th round or later for cheaper.

I’ve heard 20 mill per for OSA thrown around . Forget that , sign Kendrick’s Dowdle and Lawson and draft a solid DT under rookie contract .

The 10 draft picks Dallas has if not used to trade up seven should be spent on defense so drafting two RB’s makes little sense.
Cowboys have no biz trading up. If anything they should trade down and get 3 picks on day 2.

From those, at least 7 should be on D.

This is the "we like our guys," thread. Let's sign all our great players, we'll be lost without them.

Hendricks was only here because of Zimmer, he won't t be back. In what world is Osa worth $20M. The guy is not a difference maker, $10-12M max. We can do without Lawson, with Sam coming back and Kneeland showed he has something to him. I'm ok with Lewis. Dowdle is not a priority, we can do with or without him.

5th rounders aren’t going to equal Kendrick’s . Plus a LB in first or second round that’s how thin this position is .

I hear posters say draft 2 RB ? Why ? Draft one plus for 5-6 million bring Dowdle back .

This, no need to draft 2 RB with many holes to fill. Rico will be very valuable as a backup.

Agree and I’d add Gholston since we are losing Osa abd was this a DT all year last year

...I agree. Also bringing back Osa would benefit well.

My thought was trying to climb back to round 4 grab either Kyle McCord or Will Howard , Dallas desperately needs a young QB to develop possibly challenge Dak in 26

Wash, what you think about Dillion Gabriel?

Wash, what you think about Dillion Gabriel?

Gabriel is a fascinating prospect . He’s athletic if the pocket breaks but at 5’11” 200 LBS can he survive the NFL . Maybe . For some reason he reminds me of a Taylor Heineke who you can play for an awhile rack up a few wins but long term ….?

With 10 draft picks I see no reason the Cowboys couldn’t trade to get back a round 4 pick and start down the road of Dak challenge if not 25 certainly 26. Even though Jerry gifted Dak for life does that mean for the next 4 yrs he’s never accountable ?
