Would rather see Tanner in over Murray... anyone?

I hate the stigma that just because a guy is paid more or drafted higher, he gets the nod to play.
I've seen more out of Tanner thus far than Murray and would like to see him get a few reps in gametime and see where it goes.

Need to see our runners against other teams than the Jets.

Is it me or does Murray look a whole heck of a lot bigger than he ever did at OU?

Murrary wasn't playing because he was drafted and paid more. He is playing because they think he is a versatile back. He can run, pass protect, catch passes out of the backfield and line up outside.

Pretty much this.

Felix had 2.6 YPC
Choice 1.3 YPC
Murray 0 YPC.

I would think the odds are in favor of the Jets just being a very good defense, then us having 3 terrible runningbacks.

I think different uniforms can change how a player looks. I think Marion Barber looks bigger in a Bears uniform than he did in a Cowboys uniform.

dude looks alot bigger...little slower too which might be more mental than physical, as you can tell he doesn't fully understand what he's doing yet...strange because normally guys looks so much smaller when they reach the NFL.

I don't think those are the reasons we did not see Tanner, I'm not a Choice fan but he earned the right to at least get a shot in the first game based on his past. Murray has lots of upside and is more than just a good runner.

That said, I'd like to see us give Tanner a shot and see if he can give us more than Choice has been able to recently.

Murray looks like he is running in slow motion out there,no burst at all.

I made that same comment during the game.

He looks huge.

Different type backs. If Tanner was going to take snaps from someone, it would be Felix. (IMO anyhow and not going to happen)

Murray's biggest asset is his ability to run and catch the ball. He is a weapon catching out of the backfield or split out wide. He is fast too!

He runs a 4.37 40. He isn't slow. He is a downhill runner though. Sort of a power back, but can split wide and has great hands.

I am of the mind set that if you spend a 3rd round pick on a guy, you have to see if he can play well in the games. Not practice, not scrimmage, not pre season... in the real games, first teams on both sides when it counts.

Murray gets an opportunity before Tanner.

Nice highlight reel by the way. Nice agility and I haven't seen a guy come out of piles like that since Barry Sanders. Gone, and then there he comes... and goes! I am sure that he will get some snaps at some point this season... especially if Choice leaves.

I would much rather see Murray than Tanner right now. Tanner looks like a high-effort UDFA, which is nice, but Murray looks like he could become a real weapon.

Yeah, honestly, what is the OP even based on? Pre-season garbage time production? Neither has really shown anything but Murray undoubtedly has more versatility which helps the offense and makes the defense account for him. I expect screens to Murray to become a devastating weapon for us.

His running style reminds me of Darren McFadden. I think we're gonna see a few games where he hits the open hole and just turns on the burners.

the game looks fast for Murray at the moment which you would expect considering he is a rookie who missed time in TC. He is faster than he is showing right now.

His size, upright running style and receiving ability remind me of Chris Warren.

He looks out of shape to me. Which isnt surprising given the lockout and the hamstring injury.
