As the coach. Considering the job he did last year with Dak And his ability to recognize the ebbs and flows of a game as he has demonstrated as an announcer.

Combine that with his relationship with Jerry. He may be our only hope

obe wan kenobi you are my only hope!

There is NO way Tony becomes a coach. He enjoys life too much to pretty much have none.

Lol @ these Romo threads.

But, as coach, I place his probability much higher than clapper.

I think Tony has a bit of a mean streak in him... The moxie clapper can only dream of having.

A guy light years smarter than Garrett. A guy who took over the play book and did his own thing. A guy who calls out defenses and offensive plays on CBS is a perfect candidate for a head coach, or at minimum an offensive coordinator/qb coach.

Romo is not going to quit the best job in the media to be a coach.

He makes more than most head coaches and works 3 hours per week. He is already the best NFL analyst in the business. Jerry can't outbid CBS.

Romo is smart enough to not work for the Cowboys again, I think.
^This.

I am sure Romo is eternally grateful to Jones for the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play quarterback for this franchise and a long career but that euphoria nonsense last season would be AWFULLY hard to forgive and forget. Make that impossible to forget.

I think there is a zero % chance of Romo becoming a coach for anyone. But to play along here, he became the best analyst in the NFL in his first year. And while a great job, great hours and good money, I could see that gig becoming boring for someone like Romo. I don't think he would be a HC, but he could come in as the OC, he has no experience on any level, which fits Jerry's hiring criteria. He would be the coach in waiting, Jerry likes having that as well. He could undermine Garrett, like Garrett did with Wade, and in two years, he would become the HC. In all honesty, I would be all for it. I love Romo and would like to see him back with the team in some form.

What's next for Romo? World peace?

For a guy who won two playoff games he sure can do no wrong.

What Romo has done as a broadcaster is show that he wasn't the stupid one on the Cowboys. I mean, he demonstrably has a better grasp of offensive concepts than the man who was his head coach.

The next time he's calling a game with a good offensive team on the field, just listen to him break down play concepts on plays you've never seen the Cowboys run.

Jerry would side with Garrett over Romo

Exactly.. he did for seven years as far as play calling is concerned until Romo had a decision in regards to signing his own contract in 2013..

The fact Dak started over Romo is probably real evidence over this point.

No

Dak would have to ice his arm after every game as Romo would throw all the time, lol.

Maybe he'll bring in Michael to coach the receivers... hasn't that been a dream for some fans around here!
