Is that a testament to Kyle Kosier's supposed greatness or Montrae Holland/Corey Proctor's lack thereof?
The Cowboys are giving serious consideration and attention to interior linemen during the draft process. I assume that's for a reason.
for the whole season it seemed we had interior pass protection problems. To my untrained eye it looked repeatedly like gurode and davis were making mistakes against teams that were stunting and running delays on us.
but then one morning I caught jaworski on nfl playbook blaiming the interior pressure on romo, he broke down a couple of plays and showed how romo was waiting for guys to get open and held the ball knowing he could make people miss....
Honestly to this moment i am not sure if that is a knock on romo, a praising of romos abilities or a knock on the wr/te/rb.
All I know is, pass protection got us beat for the most part in minnesota and it played a role in a couple of other games that we won and lost. Seattle and Atlanta had us confused a number of times and got a ton of pressure on romo, but they couldnt hold up in the back end and romo made them pay for it.......also romo is able to evade so many would be sacks and tackles that it goes unnoticed.
The touchdowns against washington and atlanta were in the same spot on the same end of the field and the same thing happened....both should have been sacks and both became touchdowns.
I am of the opinion that the line played well all year but there are no sacred cows up front. I keep hearing analysts and fans on here saying the cowboys dont have needs and that is complete balogny.....Every team needs to improve and we certainly do also.
I am all for bringing in all the talent we can possibly get in the draft to compete up front.
