Would trading up for Clowney AND Donald give us a chance

I'm not saying do it. I'm not saying it will happen. I'm not saying it would work.

But, would it give us a shot at a Super Bowl? I'm all about winning the whole damn thing, even if it screws us for our next two drafts. It would be extremely interesting and undoubtedly turn this defense from crap to on the map. The offense minus a guard is already set. We have great special teams. Where would you rank us in the NFC with those 2 players added? I'll go as high as second or third. In other words, I would love if this happened but I am aware it won't

No. We are more then 2 players away from being a legitimate contender. I'm out on moving up for a "can't miss guy".

I don't know that it would give us a chance or not but how would you even start to try and do this? In order to move up to get Clowney, you would have to trade almost every pick you have in this draft. Donald is going to be a late 1st round/2nd round pick. What are you going to use to draft him with?

Not a chance. We'd have to trade up to #2 with STL in order to leapfrog all the teams that could take Clowney. And Houston may even take him. It'd be a Reggie Williams-esque trade and we can't put all our hopes and dreams into getting 1 player.

Never mind the logistics of it....we are still losing Hatcher and there's no chance of Donald playing as well as Hatcher did last year in his rookie year. So would adding clowney and replacing Hatcher with an undersized rookie be enough to get us from 8-8 to the super bowl? Nope, I don't believe so.
