My biggest fear is not all of those OTs mocked to go before 17 do not, and everyone we are targeting ends up gone.

BPA could very well be an OT, and they need to take him.

I cant tell you I'd be happy if it fell that way to answer the question, but I think the rest of the draft is excellent.

I think somebody would want to trade up for him in thst scenario allowing us to stockpile an extra two or three.

It’s a tough call...

On the 1 hand Wirfs has all the makings of a pro bowl LG. But on the other it’s ignoring glaring weaknesses and adding to an already strong unit (slightly dicey without Fred).

I’m all for taking the best possible prospect so I would take Wirfs and not be upset about it, but I would for sure shop the pick 1st.

I'm concerned that the depth of this draft will make it tough to deal down.

All I know is this....if they take someone like Delpit at 17 and he busts, that's WAY worse that having Wirfs on the bench for a year or two.

No one has ANY idea if Tyron may pull a Frederick if he has another back injury.

Then suddenly it's a fire drill for a LT.

Take BPA. Period!!!

That said, it's nice when BPA meets need...without the team lying about it.

Doesn't McCarthy have a track record of drafting offensive tackles and cross training them at guard? Can't remember if it was the packers under McCarthy that does that or if its the Steelers who do that.

Would be pretty shocked if Wirfs drops that far.
Looks like one of those crazy online draft games

So let me get this straight. All kinds of of people are gonna do cart wheels if we get a top 3 WR at 17. Those same people are gonna be pissed if we take an OL there when only RG and RT are settled and can be counted on for 16 games? This makes sense to people? Games are won and lost in the trenches.

Wirfs could go #4 to the Giants and no one would blink an eye.

I read somewhere that over the last 8 games of Iowa's season, he allowed 0 sacks, 0 hits and 1 hurry in pass pro. So he's a shutdown pass protector, a 99th percentile freak athlete, and plays a position the NFL is direly short of talent in... he's a mortal lock to go top 10.

This question is almost like asking if you would take Simmons or Okudah at #17: of course you do, but what are the odds of it happening.

because a 3rd WR is basically a starter and will be on the field for like 75% of snaps. Big difference in an OL who might not take a snap at all.

I see absolutely no reason to not project Wirfs very highly to LG. Also, like it or not there are going to be some hard decisions on the o-line $ wise coming soon. Drafting a guy that can play LG year 1 and then transition to OT in a year or 2 is about ideal as you can get in an ideal situation where the best defensive players are wiped clean at 17. At the end of the day it’s about drafting the best football player possible, making the most of a relatively cheap 5 year rookie deal Is imperative.

I get wanting Jeudy, Ruggs, or Lamb over OLine, but there’s a pretty good chance none are available at 17.

I like the players but I don't really see the point in drafting a tackle at 17.

Wirfs is s steal at 17.

Reagor is a great pick in the 2nd.

The Auburn corner has some good tools.

The rest of your picks I'm not high on, although Reed is worth a look in the 7th round.

face value...love all those guys.
but on deeper thought...id hate to go offense on back to back picks.
but i do like each of those players...specially Darrel Taylor and Broderick Washington.
that Auburn corner Noah Ican'tspellit is really good....very sticky in coverage.
Reagor would be great in this offense.
JR Reed and Jordan Fuller are 2 S's i really like that we could get in the back end of the draft.
i think im the only one who likes Shaq...solid LB.
Wirfs would be a steal...damn good player.

ahhh...yuck....

Wirfs could start at RT and Collins could move back to LG. Or, Wirfs can play LG for a couple of years and then take over for Tyron Smith. Its not a bad move. But then taking reagor in the 2nd round would be a mistake. They should go defense with the second pick. Who else is available?
