Would you be terribly disappointed if we sign WR Roy back?

Not that he'd take the pay cut with the potential to reunite with Mike Martz in Chicago still there, but what if Jerry signed him back to something like 3 years at 12-14 million?

He's familiar with Romo, more so than anyone else we'd bring in. He had fantastic stats to start last season with Romo and could have won us the Washington game had Alex not had his head elsewhere. By the same token, it's hard to forget the catch fumbles against Green Bay in 2009 and especially the one last season against New Orleans.

As a 3rd option, I wouldn't be overly morose that he would be on the team. He has his drawbacks, but he is a capable receiver.

Thoughts?

I think its time to move on. I wouldn't be throwing things if he returned though.

my thoughts, it's in neither party's best intrest at this point. Find a vet to push Ogletree and Harris and viola, we're better at the position

Giving Roy Williams a 3 yr $14M contract would be an embarrassingly bad decision. It would be hard for Jerry Jones to disappoint me. More like if he did that he would just further disgust me.

I think that Jerry is additionally sending a message with these cuts...that if you are a veteran and sign a top notched contract. You at least better be earning it at that level of pay. All of these cuts, less a kicker, would still be playing and the team happy if they were playing at the desired levels. They weren't...but it sends a message of focus and disciplined achievements to those still on the roster. Doug Free has been listening to what kind of player is desired. And Jason Witten has been providing ample example of team committed. Also, the team is going to a strong upsurge of youthful veterans as well.

I'd rather give the money to another #3 WR.

I wouldn't be opposed to bringing him back but does it really make sense financially? We saved 4 to 5 million by cutting him right? Then sign him right back for 4 to 5 million?

I think the guy is a jinx. When he's on the field, the most unimaginable things happen at the very worst times.

He's a tough fit in the slot. Do you trust him on a quick slant on 3rd and 5?

No, I wouldn't be disappointed if they sign him back for the right price.

That being said, it's Jason Garrett's time to make this team his. I think we go a different direction - I think the rookie we drafted is going to surprise people.

I think we need someone who knows is going to be in a limited role. Roy Williams still thinks he a starter. Maybe someone like a Lance Moore or a Brad Smith type. With all these weapons I don't see the 3rd receiver catching a lot of balls.

Olgetree proved last year that he's just a guy. Inactive for most of the games is all the evidence needed. Hurd should be re-signed and given a shot at #3 imo.

I don't think they gave him a fair shake because you had Dez, Miles, RW11 and even Hurd ahead him and didn't he get hurt too

I'd rather have Plaxico ... and I don't even like Plaxico.

It's football, you bust your arse and make it so the coaches can't keep you off the field. I didn't see it.

Bye

I would really like to see us go with Dewayne Harris and develop him in the slot. I really think he can be a solid option in that spot. If we're going to go get someone I would not re-sign Roy. There is a vibe about him obviously in the fan base where he is not trusted. That vibe may also exist in the locker room. He also doesn't seem like a Garrett guy.

Two guys I'd rather give 3rd WR money to are James Jones and Lance Moore. Jones has relations with Jimmy Robinson having been in in Green Bay and Rodgers liked going to him as an option. Moore has a nose for the end zone despite not seeing as many touches. I think both of those guys could get on the same page with Romo quickly and it would be money better spent.
