Would you bring Johnathan Cooper back?

Dallas didn't appear to show any interest in re-signing Jonathan Cooper following last season.

They seemed perfectly content to let Coop walk and go with someone new at LG.

He'd be a better reserve than Kadeem Edwards, but trading for Parker Ehinger likely took his spot anyway.

I don't see adding Cooper right now, but we can revisit things after week one when veteran base salaries are no longer guaranteed, if need be.

lets see.
5 starters with looney as c
fleming swing tackle
ehinger backup g and emergency rt
tfred injured

that is 8.
guess edwards if we keep 9.
can edwards play at ot at all?

Assuming medicals check out, I'd rather have Cooper than Edwards. Keep in mind, sometime in the past two seasons the Cowboys gave him reps as backup center (unless I'm mistaken). With Frederick out indefinitely, Joe Looney is starting center and we have nothing but guards, tackles, and nobodies behind him.

Does anybody want to fact check that Cooper got reps at C? Better yet, does anybody know if Ehinger or Edwards can play C?

If the team believes Cooper can play center, sure I would. But if not, I don't see the point.

Dallas Cowboys[edit]

Dallas Cowboys Offensive Line vs Commanders 2017
On January 4, 2017, Cooper was signed by the Dallas Cowboys to provide depth on the offensive line for the playoffs and to evaluate his performance closely, as the Cowboys had been interested in Cooper since the 2013 NFL draft.[18][19]

On March 14, 2017, Cooper signed a one-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys to compete for the vacant left guard job after Ronald Learydeparted in free agency, with La'el Collins additionally moving to right tackle.[20] He also was tried at center during Organized Team Activities. He was declared inactive for the first three games. He was named the starter at left guard in the fourth game against the Los Angeles Ramsin place of an injured Chaz Green, helping to stabilize the offensive line the rest of the season. He started a career-high 13 games, but suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in the season finale against the Philadelphia Eagles.
