as a possible defensive coordinator if/when he becomes available? While I do appreciate the job Zimmer has done with the defense this year. Capers was an awesome 3-4 coordinator and I think could take this defense to another level.

:banghead: You have a D that is coming together and with a few additions could be awsome...Why screw with it?

LOL! I'd certainly take him as a defensive "extra" coach. Perhaps working with the LBs. But he would need to cut that comb-over off first. Mix in some clippers Dom - you ain't fooling anyone!

While we may have to their is a real possibility zimmer may find a HC job with several jobs coming open in the NFL this year who is going to fill them.

Hot Seats and Rumours of possible HC Opening this year

Texans
Lions - Open
Rams ? (looks like Martz is out)
B-More Billick looks to be on the way out
Chiefs is Dick coming back rumor is he may hang them up?
Vikes - Tice team has been bad and New Ownership hum is he safe

Just throwing that out there

Dont let the Head Coaching job Capers has done in Houston fool you. He is a amazing defensive coach. His 3-4's in Pittsburgh were always near the top in the league and when he was coaching the Panthers they set the all time expansion team win list. They were monsters on d. In fact it was that Panther d that probably stoped us from winning back to back super bowls twice in the 90's. We had already beat Green Bay once in 96 with a slew of field goals, we seemed to have their number at that time and they were the team we would have played in the NFC Championship game had we got past Carolina. It was not until Capers was given GM responsibilities in Carolina that things went sour for him there. AND in between his head coaching jobs in Carolina and Houston he made Jacksonville pretty respectful in his short time there.

This guy has a winning track record for putting good defenses on the field. He is very experienced in our defense and he might be looking for a job.

None of it really matters unless Zimmer moves up in the offseason anyway as Parcells will not get rid of him for anybody at this point.

oh yeah? you keep him then, cause we don't want him at all. he may have been a genius in pittsburgh but he looks more and more like forrest gump in houston now.

no i think he's already married isn't he?

oh as a coach...hmmm
like someone else said, OC is more of a concern right now than DC.
I like Zim when we have two solid CBs that can be left one on one by themselves.
I just wish he could figure out a blitz package that got to the QB faster and wouldn't suck at the end of games.

I dont have him to keep. It is just very easy to kick him when he is down instead of remembering that he is a very good defensive coach. Has been for many years. Maybe he should just try to land and stay a coordinator as he has always been very good at it. Just dont try to make smart a*s comments to me because I have followed this guy for more than his years in Houston and can give a opinion on him based off more then his time there.
