Would you guys support this ejection rule?

Imagine this situation. Team A is getting blown out by Team B. There's one minute left in the 4th quarter, so special teams guy from Team A doesn't give a crap on the kickoff. The Team B guy calls for a fair catch and the kicking team guy lowers his helmet and just slams into him, helmet to helmet, injuring him bad. His team gets penalized, but so what? They're losing by 40 points and there's just a minute left and you don't even have the ball. The guy gets ejected, but big deal. There's only a minute left in an unwinnable game.

So what if during the final 5 minutes of the 4th quarter if a player gets ejected, he's automatically ineligible for his team's next game? If it's an egregious foul, the league can lengthen his suspension, but on the field, every player would know that getting kicked out would mean you're suspended at least for the next game. What do you think? Good idea? Bad idea?

I'd be all for it... When you have to lower yourself to having to hit helmet to helmet (or purposely trying to end one's career for that matter no matter what the hit was), there's no call for that...

If you're talking about tom brady , i'm all in .

Except for the random player here and there, I think there is an honor in this game and respect for warriors. Else why not put a scrub on the field and go for Brady's knees on every play?

I am more concerned about the legal cheating going on.

Players faking injuries to stop a team from going into no huddle. It was meaningless in this last game since Dallas had such a big lead. But if the game is tight and one team goes no huddle late in the game to prevent substitutions, and that defense is worn out, it gives an unfair advantage - or at the very least an advantage not within the spirit of the game. Because up to know there has been no rule to prevent this.

Similar to what the college rules cover? Absolutely.

And egregious foul committed that requires ejection in the second half carries over to the next game. I'm surprised it's not a rule already.

In this scenario he would be suspended ..... So no reason for a rule change
