Would you live in a foreign country? If so, which one

Most of us on CZ are Americans, but I know there are a few from other countries like Canada. However, I’ll pose the same question whether you’re from the US or someplace else. Would you ever be willing to relocate to another country? If so, which one.

I’ll go first. I would love to live in Switzerland. It’s the country my grandparents are from and I have hundreds of relatives there. It’s also beautiful and the people are nice. I speak the two most-spoken official languages there, German and French. My language skills would only get better if I lived there.

Your turn.

Permanently? It'd take some thinking.

For a few years?
A long list...maybe 50+ countries
Various countries in Asia, Europe, S America, C America, S. Pacific...

Japan attracts me - for cultural/social/political/whatever reasons, I won't go into here. Maybe even China to be honest.

Interesting thread.

Anywhere in the Caribbean, Maldives, New Zealand, Switzerland, Seychelles, Bora Bora, Indonesia, Italy and maybe somewhere in the Bavarian countryside

As long as I am close to the ocean with dive equipment in hand.......would be a happy camper :D

We have fans from over the pond as well dear. London, Germany & Australia.

(I recognized them right away with their accents when they posted):p

The caribbean, the Bahamas, exhumas... Getting the picture lol
The Yucatan peninsula, primarily Belize as you can always move inland during typhoon/ hurricanes,,, islands? not so much!

The Virgin islands chain are nice slice of what your pointing out, though:thumbup:

* it always seemed like there was a possible thunderstorm brewing off over on the edge of the horizon when I've been down there.

Argentina for the beef and the wine and the hunting

Careful. American's aren't liked very much in Argentina haha. I have an Argentinian friend that has a house here and in Argentina and he said if I ever go, I had better be careful and not openly make it known that I'm an American.

You know, my favorite place was probably Italy. (specifically the non-tourist spots) Though visiting and living somewhere are two different things.

I can't tell you how many New Yorkers talk and talk about wanting to move to Florida and when they finally do. They end up moving right back rofl

If I had to move to a different country (or really wanted too get the hell out). Probably Switzerland is where I would end up going.

I lived in Germany for four years finishing my Masters degree and working in consulting. I liked it. Learned the language. Some things were different of course but I could have done it for the rest of my life. Still, there's no place like home so I am happy to be back in Dallas.

Been to many countries and if I have a choice I would say New Zealand less population and beautiful nature.Other options can be Uruguay or Argentina
Asia would be nice, but the problem is you will stand out as a foreigner no matter what.
