Would you mind resting Dak this week?

It will be interesting to see if Dak will play this week.
Calf strains can be tricky so the team has to determine whether it's in the long term interest of the '21 season to rest Dak.
The Cowboys are virtually assured of a playoff spot due their division.
I know they would want to secure the Bye week as the top NFC seed but if Dak is forced to miss even more games by returning too early and further tweeking the Calf, the Bye would be out of the question any way.

he needs to play. we are in a tight playoff race, fighting for home field and seeding....

I think game plan maybe a little different, with him mostly in the pocket.....less running around. less scrambling.

If trainers felt he needed another week of rest then fine but without knowing everything at this stage I play him. Making medical decisions based on nothing to me is a waste. He has a strain, he has been treating it last week and will likely continue to get treatment. I don't sit players if they can play because I don't look at games as meaningless and I understand in this league, hell even high school ball you play the games even when you are not at 100%. Right now you would be hard pressed to find any player who is 100%. If trainers feel he should not play then do not play him but I have not heard anything that claims he will not be ready to play.

There is a next to zero chance Dak sits out this game. As long as the medical staff is sure there is no danger of further injury he will play.. and play well. People comparing is calf strain to Gallup should remember that Dak hurt his calf coming down wrong after he leaped to throw the ball.. Gallup hurt his running a 9 route. Two very different levels of stress on the muscle.. two very different injuries.

Outside of the inner circle around Dak, there is not one person, mediot, or message board barco lounger coach that knows the truth about his condition.

If he takes the field, his risk will be minimal considering the precautions they will take with this special player.

With the fact I know about zero of his condition, I'd say, I have to pass on answering this.
