Twitter: Would you rather have Clowney or Miller

I'll take the two time Superbowl champ and Superbowl MVP. I'd skip the guy who opted out of his last college game minutes before the game started. Spurrier was PISSED!

Depends on which one is a better fit for what Parker wants to do. Whichever one it is that's the one I want. Bobby Wagner is another one I want if he fits in. But signing an older veteran will probably get a young unproven high draft pick waved/cut/traded. We need a veteran no doubt, but I'm not sure getting rid of an unproven young player is the answer. Going with only 5 receivers or 3 backs to make room isn't smart either. Glad I'm not a GM. I probably won't even make for a good couch GM.

First of all, I think the asking price will not be the same.

I firmly believe that Clowney is looking for more money. It’s always been his M.O., and why he’s bounced around the league.

I also believe that Dallas could get Miller at a discount because of who they are and where they’re located. Miller has said so himself that he’d love to play close to home.

So, for me, it’s the less expensive Von Miller.

It essentially forces you to keep 6 outside linebackers, but I think Miller still has some gas in the tank in a rotational role.

I'd go Miller because of LB position.

Besides Dallas has beefed up the DL all around.

I’ll take Clowney but I don’t think he is on CPs radar.

Think about it….before CP was hired, when the big rumor was Jim Leohnard, the kid claimed signing Clowney was a priority. Then CP is the hire and we no longer hear that.

These guys are going to help someone, that’s for sure, but they probably don’t want a full camp and want a little more time to decide, plus if someone suffers an injury that could mean a significant bump.

They are waiting it out just as teams are.

The Locked On pod was discussing this lately too.

Essentially you’re choosing between a future HoFer who is effectively just a DPR now (but still a very good one at that), and a guy who can still play all three downs, while still getting after the passer.

Miller gives you fewer snaps and less versatility, but he’d be an excellent mentor to Lawrence and Ezeiruaku. He probably helps their development better than Clowney could.

Meanwhile, Clowney gives you more on the field in total, while still providing some tuition and encouragement for the younger edges.

For me, I’d be happy to go with either. FWIW, I prefer both to Bosa.

I think I'll take Clowney, bigger, stronger less of a drop off. Miller is more of a speed guy and I'm not sure at 37 years of age if he can capture the edge. I believe Clowney offers CP more flexibility with pass rush, run support, zone drops and a few snaps inside, in a four man front. Clowney also offers Jerry more cap flexibility, which he loves.

I think if we're looking to bring in any DEs/OLBs, it's because of the pass rush need. Gary is clearly an end more like Clowney and Lawrence. He's a good pass rusher, but not a great pass rusher. We didn't have any great pass rushers last year, so our hopes are basically in Eze improving, Lawrence hitting the ground running and/or Houston earning more snaps than he did last year. I think Miller could fill a subpackage role as a pass rusher.
