Would you rather have Elliott, or Aaron Jones GB rb?

If there are better RBs in the league than Zeke(which any non-homer would agree), then that leaves the possibility of there being elite RBs. It's simple.

But this is all your opinion, not factual. Many like other backs; I like other backs, but I cannot definitely say they are better. You and others can show stats that give credence to your argument. Those that disagree, can do the same.

This is where you and others lose your arguments when it comes down to player performance. If a player does bad, you squawk; if said player performs well, you always find negativity.

It is what it is, some people are advanced enough to understand analytics. Others see 100 yards on 25 carries and claim MVP.

It's a shame we have so many like that in the second grouping on here. It'd be a much more informative board without you guys.
This is you anytime you see a RB thread.

Say what now? There are few, very few, HBs I would even think about swapping for Zeke. Jones aint one of em.

No, you can definitely come to a conclusion that one player is better than another. It's not just opinion. Some people might argue that Gallup is better than Julio, that doesn't mean that Julio being better than Gallup isn't a fact.

I don't lose arguments, sorry. And that's a very random last paragraph that also isn't factual.

If a player is a better receiver, runs at a higher success rate, forces more missed tackles, eludes more tackles in the first place, increases your chance to win when he touches the ball more than the other, and does it behind an worse oline and on a worse offense then yes, that player is better. It's not an opinion, it's a fact. That's where you and others lose arguments, you think everything they should be participation trophies and that we can't compare players on a football forum.

Anyone else see the common denominator with all the top backs?

Long runs, big plays (20+ yard runs)

Zeke has one (1) this year....a 27-yard run, lulz.

681+ carries and three seasons since Zeke has had a run longer than 41-yards.

I was hoping to see more wrinkles in our running scheme this year, but it seems to be the same as the last 10 years. A lot of slow developing handoffs right up the middle of the line. I get jealous of the designed pass plays to a lot of running backs in the league. Most of our passes to RBs are checkdowns and the RB is standing still with his back to the defense. Zeke and Pollard could be better utilized in the offense.

I mean we would all take that. But that’s not really realistic.

How is it not realistic? If you have Jones at 800k a year or whatever, you now have roughly 14 million a year to pay another player. The Cowboys are in desperate need of a DT. For 14 million per year we can go out and sign a really good one.

Everyone loses arguments. Some posters aren't aware enough to realize when they've lost.

This analysis only makes clear you either are trolling, bias, or really don’t understand football with any meaningful depth.

not trying to be rude. But these are the only choices. Not just for you but for anyone making Jones statements vs Zeke.

Picking up the tough yards, pass blocking, and durability are the things that Zeke does better. All other things Jones is better at.

Is that worth a difference of 14 million per year in salary? I wouldn't pay it.

Then of course you have the off the field, immaturity, and leadership void issues with Zeke.

We need to use Pollard like GB uses Jones. Get him involved. The more weapons we use the tougher it is for DCs to scheme us.

For the price? Jones...

And health, which is a huge factor for a RB.

Aaron Jones hasn't had anywhere near enough carries in his career to take him over Zeke. I don't like paying Zeke either, but low budget flashes aren't the answer either.

Durability was one of the things I said.

I would take Zeke, but not at his salary. Give me Aaron Jones, Tony Pollard, and a smash mouth short yardage type back for 3 million total per year over Zeke.

And then use that extra 12 million to pay a pro bowl safety or DT type.

I think too many people believe they can win an argument while debating opinions. They can't see at most they can do is disagree with a differing opinion.

Well I’m saying it’s not realistic in there aren’t many DTs in the league worth 14 million a year. Sure I’d love Aaron Donald but the only way you get these guys if if you draft them and the Cowboys won’t draft them. That’s what I mean by unrealistic.

I'd rather not be paying RBs the money Zeke is making. That's my thought on the position as a whole. Same goes for WRs.

Lack of 20 yard runs to me isn’t because of the back.

I agree on running backs.....receiver? A bit tougher to swallow. But I think this team these past few years could’ve had two solid wide outs Of they wanted too. That draft class last year was deep and everyone knew it. Ridley and Gallup was possible. But if they didn’t want to invest a first in receiver they could’ve got some other guys as well.
