Would you sign for 2 & 3 ?

Not sure how to appreciate this thread. But no I won't be satisfied with 2-3. I would take 3-2 with wins over Philly, Wash, and NY but I wouldn't be real happy about it.

I don't get this settling for anything. I want to win a SB. Going 2-3 and then facing the postseason sounds lame to me. Excuse me. It is lame. We want all the mo we can get and we want that home game that comes with the division win.

Anyone here want to go to Philly after our last game with them? Didn't think so.

I agree.

However I dont think this team handles its success very well. I'd almost rather lose one or two of the least important games to keep looking for areas of improvement. I'm not saying they dont do that already, but its only natural that you prepare harder after a loss.

I'm not saying I prefer 2-3, but as long as we beat NY and Philly I think we can still achieve the ultimate goal.

We have enough talent on this team to beat any team in the playoffs. We just have to play to our potential, and to do so I think a loss or two could potentially help the team in the long run.

However, you're right. I dont want to have the Philly game determine the division, even if it is at home.

I am most concerned about winning the division. I would also like to have a better record than the wildcards. One of the wildcards will be NYG or Philly so if we take the division we would have homefield advantage over them. The other wildcard is probably GB and I also want to have a better record than them. The main reason for those hopes is I think our QB plays better in warm weather and dome stadiums. So any game in Dallas, Minnesota and NO is not so bad for our offense. However, games in Philly, NY or GB will likely be bad weather or at least cold weather games.

Records dont matter when it comes to the Wildcards. What I mean is that Green Bay can win out and have a better record than Dallas, but if Dallas wins the East, we automatically are the higher seed. So it really doesnt matter what the records of the Wildcard teams are as long as we win the division.

2-3 won't be enough for the third seed, so the answer is no.
We have a shot in all games with NO looking like the most likely loss. 3-2 with SD and 2 division games sounds ok to me.

I wouldn't sign for 2-3. I'd sign for 3-2 though. If you could guarantee me 3 wins and a division championship coming out of December, I'd definitely sign that.

I feel the same way.
Living in Jersey, I'd really hope that one of the 3 wins was against the Giants.

No...2-3 could very well happen but I would not sign and would not be happy. 3-2 would be acceptable and 4-1 would be great.

I am gonna do something really weird and actually let the season play out and see where Dallas sits after that.

10-6 and possibly the last WildCard I'll put NO as an Auto Loss just for the sake of it - and some other combo of 2 loses and 2 Wins - would you sign right now? Possibly conceding the division to Filthy and grabbing the last wildcard?

I know 8-3 Looks Great but we have had December's to forget since 1997, I'm hoping it changes but we have one heckuva a tough road.

I'm thinking the Cowboys win the first three and follow it up with two straight losses. (yes, beating the Saints)

Uhmmm .... I just want to win a Play-Off game no matter what the Record ends up being.

Each of these team present problems for opponents especially inside the Eastern Division.

Prediction 11-5 losing to SanDiego and Waaaaa, Dallas goes 3-2 over the last 5 games.....

4-1 or better would mean rolling into the Tournament hot.

If we go 2-3 we are not winning anything postseason IMO because our confidence will be shot by that point.

I will hope for 4-1 and think we will be 3-2 and win the division. If we get on a hot streak we can win be right in the mix for the Superbowl so I am not signing off for any 2-3 and hope we win a game in the playoffs junk.

Hopefully the team has bigger goals than that!

I could care less what happens with SD and NO as long as we win our division games.

Agree to a point. I think we can go 4-1. Depends on the ability of the coaches to adjust to the game situations. We have the horsepower to go 5-0.

NO does not scare me as much as it did a few weeks ago. Remember we know their coach well. We have film and pretty good coaches on our side also. More than that, we have a secondary that does not allow people to run free. We are a well rounded team without major glaring issues. Except the ones the media makes up for money.

Its all the coaches fault when we lose and the reason we win are the players

I dont have a good feeling about December. If we can get 2 wins I'll take it, and that should be enough for a wildcard.

hypno...please don't start. You know how I feel about that. I like our coaches. Of course it is up to the players. The coaching/game planing takes a step up in the playoffs just as the quality of the play by individuals steps up. I firmly believe we have the players to excel in the playoffs. We need all parts of our team functioning like a well oiled machine to reach the promised land.

Go Cowboys!

At the beginning of the season, I predicted 10-6 and a wildcard.

However, I didn't reckon on the defense coming together as quickly and completely as they did.

With all that said, I think we finish out 3-2 at a minimum.
