Would you take Ingram at 40?

If he slips past WAS and MIA, he could slide far. Would you grab him at our 2nd round pick, #40? If not, who would you take over him (realistically)?


I wouldn't personally. He could be a great back, but that's not what I feel we need right now.

If he's the BPA, then, yes. I'm a firm believer in BPA over need because you never know what your needs will be next year... your strength this year can easily become your weakness next year.

I would not take him. I think he is a little over rated and Dallas has much more need in a lot more areas.

I would love if Dallas goes Oline or DB in the 2nd no matter what the first round pick

agreed but that 8-10 million cap number will have to come down some.

Trade down . We have all been so focussed on a 1st round trade down .
Round 2 could be a much better oppurtunity. Lets assume we take T.smith in round 1 with our biggest draft need safley tucked away we could get a little creative and attempt to pick up a xtra 3rd or 4th because there is such great depth in the middle of this draft. Unless a terrific player at a need(yeah i said it) position inexplicably drops to us like a pouncey or a wilkerson.

If for some reason that ingram or one of the qb's like dalton or kaepernick where still on the board then #40 goes up for sale IMO

I've been thinking the 2nd pick is a trade down spot. One for more picks. Two cuz Jerry can't help himself.

Ingram falling to #40? Highly unlikely unless he does something really stupid or gets into an accident or something. Indy passing on him? NE passing on him? GB passing on him? No way.

If, for some reason, he was there at #40, it would be the easiest decision for Jerry Jones. It is a no-brainer to take him there.

With no CBA we can't trade Choice, can we? I really don't know so just asking.

I think its a whole lot smarter to trade down with the first round pick and stay put with the second round pick. I think there is little difference between picks 9-19 exspecially in the positions the Cowboys are interested and you can gain a lot more compensation for the move down.

At pick 40 there is a real good chance that a 1st round talent falls to that spot. You have to take advantage when that happens. Trading down most likely takes them out of that chance and the compensation isn't nearly as good unless someone gives you a future first and that doesn't do much for this year.
