Would you take Kouandjio in the 2nd?

Dr. Andrews has signed off with his consent that Kouandjio's knee is just fine. Is that enough for you? And if so is he worth the 47th pick if available? I think I would rank him as the 5th best OT in this draft behind Robinson, Matthews, Lewan, and Moses with James not far behind and would probably pull the trigger if he's on the board.

I assume that you feel Martin is an OG and not an OT?

Yes. Or at least I think he will be a better guard than he will be a RT, even though he could definitely play the position at least adequately .

This guy had late first round comments before the medical report looked bleak a while back...perhaps this puts him back in that area

What is wrong? And what are some of those every ways?

Inconsistent, wrong fit. Still don't like the medical concerns, regardless of Andrews. He and Hageman(theDT) are two guys off the top of my head that I hope we don't even consider.

Heck, if his knee is really fine I'd consider him at 16. He's that good.

I fear the Commanders getting a super steal in the 2nd round.

I wish we could draft both

I like his game footage; although, 2012 was better than 2013 which is a bit of a concern. I'm not always convinced when those Doctor's sign off on and injured player. I've heard the word degenerative mentioned with him but I have not checked into the details. The Doctor is just signing off on the injury but that does not eliminate degenerative issues.

His combine/Pro-day numbers were ugly.

The Cowboys have much more depth at OT than at OG. Parnell is a legit backup OT and Weems has upside. They have Zero depth at Guard. Kouandjio is powerful, but there are only a very few 6-7 players than can play OG and it's not idea when you have a 6-2 QB.

We need a starting RT next year though, and I'm not gonna buy into either Parnell or Weems as that guy.

Agreed 100%. IF the team is completely comfortable with the knee then this guy is absolutely worthy of #47. Did you guys know that he's 20 years old? The guy has incredible size/strength, and although he doesn't possess top flight athleticism, he's got plenty enough to be a really good RT.

You don't have to buy into Parnell and Weems as starters in 2015; however, Free is serviceable for 2014 and Parnell is at least serviceable as the backup. They liked Weems enough to keep him on the 53 man roster all season as a developmental player.

It's one of the few positions that to me,that is probably best to wait and address it in the 2015 draft. If you're going to try to develop a guy like Weems, you might as well commit to doing it. Drafting another OT would like squeeze him off the roster.

It's the opposite situation at OG. They have Zero depth there. They could stand to add both a legit backup and a developmental player.

This goes back to the same argument we''ve had a couple of times now....you have a very different view of a lot of the players on the roster than I do. I'm not about to pass on a legit OT prospect in fear of losing an UDFA who we got off of another teams practice squad. Guess we'll see in a couple years about him though.

And I'm not arguing that G is a a huge need by the way. It definitely is because, you're right, we have absolutely nothing there besides Leary and Mack. And even those 2 don't exactly instill a ton of confidence in me despite playing well enough last year.

It's not as simple as passing on a legit OT in favor of a UDFA. It's about passing on other similarly ranked players in the draft.

I'm not directly comparing Weem/Parnell to Cyrus Kouandjio. I'm comparing Kouandjio to players that might be available at the same pick like Filo, Ward, Attaochu, Easley, etc..

I wouldnt. He is terrible vs the pass rush and is over rated. I would rather have Billy Turner on the 3rd play him at OG for a year and develop to replace Free next year. If you feel like Turner can't be any more than a OG look to draft a RT next year.
