2) What if we had kids? There are a lot of complexities to walking away from someone and never seeing them again if you don’t have kids. This whole premise doesn’t really make sense if you have kids.

Who cares what the father thinks. I love her, she loves me, & we make our own way in society with or without his blessing. No need to flip him off.
