Would You Trade Micah Parsons for 2 First Picks in the 2026 NFL Draft?

The
Khalil Mack has entered the chat..... and I would say Micah's a far superior pass rusher and disruptor than Mack was at his point when he got traded.

The question was "would I" as if I were the GM. Yes I would. Would the Cowboys be able to make a deal like that? Probably not...
The last time Mack was traded was for a 2nd and a 6th round draft pick. Front offices for NFL teams don’t stay stupid forever…except for one. A second and a sixth is what the Cowboys could get for Parsons because of the monster contract he’ll be seeking.

And no one is trading for him without a deal in place.

There you go. He thinks Rams will do it.

This is hilarious.
What is so hard to believe about that. The rams trade their top picks all the time. Over the years they have traded
A 2nd for Sammy Watkins
A 2nd and 4th for Marcus Peters
A 1st for Brandon Cooks
A 3rd and 5th for Dante Fowler
Two 1st's and a 4th for Jalen Ramsey
Two 1st's and a 3rd for Matthew Stafford
A 2nd and 3rd rounder for Von Miller

They have picked in the 1st round just 1 time since 2017. DE Jared Verse(24).

If any team had the gusto to pull a trade like this off, it would be the Rams; they would top the list.

This may also be Stafford's last year. He could Retire and open up significant cap space for them to sign Micah to an extension.

The likelihood of this happening is probably very low. Were just brainstorming here.

When Mack initially got traded he was traded for 2 1sts a 3rd and 6th. You're smoking some good stuff if you don't think Micah would command at least 2 1sts - with or without a deal, doesn't matter.

Mack only got a 2nd and 6th because he was north of 30. If he were still 25 years old like Parsons hes going to get multiple 1st round picks coming back.

He’s signing with the Cowboys. There will be no trade with any team for any first round picks. The moment Dallas makes him available is the moment the other 31 teams knows Dallas doesn’t want him. No team is trading anything of value for a player that isn’t wanted by the team he plays for.

He’s going to demand $40+ million AAV with a healthy guarantee. If the Cowboys don’t think he’s worth it why is another team going to shell out that kind of compensation and give up valuable draft picks for the opportunity to do it?

Micah is our best player and his new contract will be very costly. The Browns have 2 First Round Picks next year. You could use these picks to move up to get Arch Manning or make deals multiple draft picks in the Day 2 & 3 and set us up with a bonanza of future key players. Would you do it?
No question

Lol,
No!

No.. I don't want to trade him..

He should already have been extended.. our GM is an idiot.

I would completely agree that Micah isn’t going anywhere and will get his extension in Dallas. Crazy to me to think that another team wouldn’t line up to give two 1st rounders as long as it’s not too 10 picks. We see trades like that pop up every few year for elite mid 20 something guys.

There's a risk (as to the quality of the draft picks) no doubt. There's also a risk to retaining Parsons- injury, decline in play, etc.... There's no risk-free choice.

I would hope that first round draft picks are quality players- especially if higher in the first round, like Cleveland's for example. Add in the $40M in free agent signings (let's say $20M each), and that's four quality players. I'm taking those 4 players over Parsons every time.
Then we should trade CeeDee also, right?

And next year, Tyler Smith.

Absolutely, but not because I don’t like Micah. This is a business and people need to lose battles to win wars. The Cowboys won’t be good for a few years while they retool and reset and purge themselves of Daks contract.

By that time Micah will be used up. I’d much rather invest in 3 premium long term positions with young guys in the first round. If the browns absolutely flop or the wrong guys get injured you might get a top 3 pick and get your future QB. That’s worth losing Micah easily

Dallas is at least 6 years away from being a contender so it wouldnt be the worst idea.

No. Prior to this offseason I may have said yes but Micah’s behavior in this contract negotiations has given me new reasons to like him. He’s shown leadership and proactive behaviors in the locker room this season. Also about his podcast, I’m pretty happy that he hasn’t used his podcast as a means of negotiation.

But to your point do we trade the farm for Archie if the opportunity presents itself. Yes, but leave Micah out of it. I just assume mortgage the future with a trade to get Archie but if we have a signed sealed and delivered generational talent already, let’s let him stay and use draft picks to get Archie.

Yes

If we had moved to a 3-4, I’d say no, but in a 4-3, YES…..for 2 first round selections, I would trade him. When was the last time you saw anyone give 2 #1s for a Pass rusher or give two first round picks to move up in the draft for a Pass rusher?
