Would you trade up for Travis Hunter?

That's ridiculous.

If you really think that Hunter is a cant miss blue chip prospect then yeah go grab him. Really if you hit on an elite 1st round talent the draft is a win no matter what happens the rest of the way.

The only hesitation I would have if I'm the Cowboys is do I want to make sure I keep my 2026 1st round pick just in case I need to go QB early next year?

This is a good question, but we all know Dak isnt going anywhere

He is a true blue-chipper and could put a team like Buffalo or Baltimore over the hump. Dallas isn’t that team to give away future picks because they have a long ways to go.

I would love him in Dallas but it isn’t the smart move. Josh Allen or Jackson would take more advantage of his receiving skills and those teams are a lot closer to the SB.

Let me guess, you want an OL or DT at 12?
I'll take a DT or pass rusher at 12. Maybe a CB if someone like Will Johnson fell. If Hunter was there at 12 for some bizarre reason, sure, sign me up.

But I can't trade away 12, our 2nd and likely our 3rd and next year's 1st to go chase Travis Hunter. That'd be kinda dumb given how they need the draft to actually build out a roster.

This is true but im saying…

Who would you rather?

Travis Hunter or Mazi Smith, Tyler Guyton, & Marshawn Kneeland?
What if what you are giving up is Ceedee Lamb and Micah Parsons?

You want to point out the bad picks but we've made some good 1st rounders too. And on a team that literally does nothing but sign slop in FA, you can't be trading away most of your premium picks over a couple of drafts to chase a CB/WR.

Why did you leave out the second rounders we picked?

And Ceedee and Micah picks were BPA. Something that this team hasnt done in the first round in a while. Reaching for a need (ol,dl) at 12 is how you end up with Guytons and Mazis

If I had confidence in this coaching staff, maybe.
Be that as it may, try making him a full-time dual player, and he'll be out of the league in 3-5 years.
Add in the fact, if he tweaks his knee, you're out your #1 CB AND #2 WR for 4-6 weeks.

This is probably close to what it will take to get you to 3rd.........this would all but guarantee a shot at Hunter or Carter ( Ward going 1st or 2nd....no question about that )
