Would you?

Assuming we pick up a couple of CBs in the upcoming draft, which is not out of the question, would you consider putting Newman in for a few plays a game at WR?

He certainly has the speed to stretch the field, but can we afford to spend his legs sprinting a few extra plays a game.

Sorry if the questions seems pointless, I'm just bored to tears. I figure if the writers can throw stuff out and see what sticks to the wall, so can I. :D

I think Newman is at the point in his career that playing defense should be his sole responsibility.

Maybe return some punts in the playoffs?

I would say yes if it is a big game, or in the playoffs. We are already good enough on offense to make the playoffs, but in the playoffs I think you use every weapon possible.

Why would we put him at WR? The dude doesn't even catch most of the balls that come his way for INT situations. :p

I understand the thought process, cause Deion gave us some nice plays here and there at WR, but Deion could catch the ball a lot better than Newman can.

Let him worry about just playing defense. I don't even like him returning punts. He's too valuable.

No, he was nicked up last year and to valuable on defense. I wish they would quit trying to make him return punts as well.

No, but if we do draft 2 Cbs early, or get 2 who could start in the NFL I will be inclined to say let him sign a mega contract with another team rather than take the huge cap hit. The CB salaries are outrageous.

I'd rather franchise him and trade him rather than just letting him walk.
