Wouldn't it be nice to have Michael Irvin as WR coach?

Yep, I know this is just a wet dream.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a combination of championship experience, pride for the star, and discipline/work ethic for Dez to flourish. IMO this would be a huge upgrade, and quite possibly the best offseason move we can make.

I would love that move. Irvin has some coaching in him. I just think a coaching position is beneath him money wise. He makes a lot more being in front of a camera. Look what he did for Jessy Holley in a few weeks for proof.

Irvin said he couldn't coach because he has no patience or tolerance in dealing with people.

Something bad would've happened to Roy Williams by now, let's just put it that way.

Irvin has already said he has no interest in coaching, IIRC.

That's too bad. I always thought he would make a good coach. However, I don't blame him for not wanting to deal with today's players.

Nope.

Not now, Not ever.

he worked out austin on the sideline after practice in TC in 08, after working with him he went on his espn 1033 radio show and declared the cowboys have nothing behind owens and austin would never be a number 1 wr or a go to guy. He was emphatic about it.

after he said it, the rest of that terrible station repeated that for about a year and so did most of the fans here...

so uhh, no thanks. Besides any morning the head coach could wake up to find his wr coach in jail or worse.

The simple truth is that great players, even hard working players like Irvin, don't necessarily make great coaches. There is more to coaching than work ethic and desire.

Today's players? What about Irvin? He was a great worker on the field and in practice, but there was a constant concern about drugs and prostitutes.

I think he would be good at running a NFL WR camp. A place where NFL WRs go to work on their game. I think he'd be good on a short term basis. He'd exhaust himself if he tried to keep up the same passion for an entire season.

This? Again?

Lets get Troy for QB coach and Emmitt for RB coach while we're at it.

Mike aint coaching for 75-100k per year at 60hrs per week. Forget about it...

I'd love his attitude as a coach and I actually think he could do it, but then you gotta expect Mike to be Mike. He'd probably be on the radio after every practice saying how much so and so sucked at practice that day.
