Wouldn't the wildcat with DMac and Zeke be another great weapon to use 2-3x/gm?

Chuckled at the "pass the torch" thread on the page, and my initial reaction was to think how, given that logic, we ought to have McFadden handing off to Elliott for a TD.

But wait.

No, really... no kidding... wouldn't that make a lot of sense, in actuality, to deploy once or twice or maybe even three times in games?

Not sure but I'd like to see some packages with both of them on the field. Not really effective unless one of them can throw it (wildcat).

Please make it stop......McFadden is a JAG....his 4th place finish isn't even top 10 this year or 2014 or 2013

I've almost never seen the ability to pass actually matter to running WC. But maybe that's just me.

Having said that, another intriguing wrinkle would be to see our newfound lefty QB take a snap in the WC. (Fun to speculate, anyway.)

Exactly. And we have a runner who can throw in Dak.

True. But I consider it a big difference... Dak isn't the same threat that a 1000 yd runner is, of course.

I can imagine it would be a pretty substantial thing to have to defend one-cut McFadden in the middle, while also dealing with the threat of speed demon Zeke to the outside.

Is Gurley a JAG as well by that thinking?

He is 16th in the league in rushing, 2nd lowest ypc of any back with more than 100 attempts this season (3.2 ypc).

For his career he has been held to under 4 yards per carry 19 out of 28 games (and under 3 ypc in 10 of 28).

I loved Gurley coming out, wanted to draft him. But he is absolutely a JAG as of this moment. This board would be calling him a bust with how his career has started to this point. We talk about the problems on the Eagles with their below average offensive line, rookie QB, and how they have no running game. Yet every Eagle RB is averaging at least 1 more yard per carry than Gurley.

I'm not as big a fan. You remove the passing threat and the defense can collapse down.

I think Beasley is the best wild cat candidate, and I'd like to see him throw another pass.

Beasley McFadden Dez Dak And Elliot all on the field at the same time in a wildcat... that's not bad

An option to think about, McFadden ran plenty of similar stuff at Arkansas and he was able to throw it too.

The possibilities boggle the mind... Dez pre-snap motion circling behind the backfield... DMac takes the snap and fakes to Zeke on the dive, takes a couple of steps to the left, then laterals instead to Dez trailing him... defense scrambles to that side, remembering tape of the Lions game... but then Beasley comes the other way, and takes the lateral from Dez... and lofts the pass to Dak in the end zone.

But having said that, as fun as it might be to imagine... honestly, I just look at DMac's Arkansas "wild hog" highlights above, and you put Zeke in that backfield with him, those two on their own would pose an absolute steamroller.

If McFadden was a 16 game starter he would be top 5 in rushing . He is far from a JAG.
I really don't care for the wildcat. The Cowboys can win with a conventional offense.
