Anyone care to venture what its going to take to get Canty under contract? Makes Ratliff's deal look like a great bargain.

Kelly, a defensive end scheduled to move to defensive tackle this season, signed a seven-year, $50.5 million contract Thursday that has $18.125 million in guarantees. In the first three years of the deal, he will make $25.125 million.

I am not saying we'd want to base our deal off of that....or that we necessarily will....

But it might very well end up setting a market value for some of the FAs heading into this class.

I don't think Canty approaches that figure (but I didn't think Kelly would either). But it could drive up the price, which is why I posted it.
