Wow, Hoge and Dilfer both love our chances

I think this is live on ESPN right now and isn't one of the vids dcfanatic has put up... I'm watching it right now.

But it sounds like both of them are expecting us to win. Hoge is saying the Minny O-line has real problems, especially at OT, and that they are going to have to leave backs and TEs in to help out against our pass rush. Dilfer completely agrees and says that will leave only a few guys out in routes, which Favre hates because he likes options. And he says that will lead to Favre forcing it into coverage because that's just in his DNA.

And when we're on offense, they say losing Henderson was "catastrophic" (according to Dilfer) and that Jasper Brinkley is late to his gaps and is in for a long day because we can put such pressure on inside backers with Witten and others.

They're both even saying that if we win, Minny will all blame Favre when in reality the blame will lie with other parts of their team. Dilfer said they weren't really Superbowl caliber in the first place.

Interesting, and I know they're speaking honestly because Dilfer agreed with everything Hoge said -- no contrived BSPN arguments here. :)

Wow, they think it's a foregone conclusion.

We've put a scare into some folks.

What I love about this team is that they don't eat the cheese, and they could care less what "analysts" say about them. The 2009 Cowboys just do all their talking on the field. I'm so excited for Sunday!

I really enjoy Dilfer's analysis. Not afraid to go against the ESPN flow.

He is coming off like a homer, like a Cowboy fan but I dont care. He is a good listen.

Yes, we have...

They both just made their picks for all the games and both officially picked us. Hoge even said he likes us big.

Wow, this is kind of strange. I see Peterson and Favre and that great D-line, but haven't kept up with the details of the potential Vikes problems.

I think this team is capable of handling their success now.

I dont think Sunday is even going to be a contest.

Yeah, its almost like Dilfer hasn't gotten the memo.

Kind of got to wonder if he's paid to be the level-headed guy while the rest of the gomers are the sensationalists who live or die with whichever way the wind blows.

Only matchup that really worries me is Jared Allen vs Flo but everywhere else we match up well.

Dilfer picking the Cowboys is no surprise, he was on the bandwagon long before the Cowboys went on their end of season run. Left side of the Minny OL is very inconsistent, McKinnie was yanked out of the starting lineup a couple of times b/c he was getting Favre killed during their losing streak. And now, that OL is even having trouble doing what they did best, run block. The Minny running game was not been sharp the last 5 games.

That OL can be exploited, especially by our pass rushers.

And Minny's pass rushing threat Jared Allen has not been as dangerous as he was earlier in the year. He's gone cold the last few games to end the season. Flo should be able to handle him, especially if Garrett keeps the D guessing like he has the last 2 games.

Bottom line, Favre does not like to be hit, plus he has a history of playing poorly against Dallas. I like our chances too. :D

From what I've seen, Favre's presence has rendered Peterson much more ineffective than anyone could have imagined. They're a pass-first and pass-again team, and it seems like Peterson is unable to get into a groove. I think they tried for a brief stretch to start focusing Peterson more, but that's when things started to blow up.

Peterson hasn't cracked the 100-yard mark in seven weeks and has averaged over 4.0 yards per carry just once during the stretch. For what it's worth, his best games of the bunch have been at home. Here they are game by game:

vs. Seattle: 24 carries for 82 yards (3.4 ypc)
vs. Chicago: 25 carries for 85 yards (3.4 ypc)
at Arizona: 13 carries for 19 yards (1.5 ypc)
vs. Cincinnati: 26 carries for 97 yards (3.7 ypc)
at Carolina: 12 carries for 35 yards (2.9 ypc)
at Chicago: 24 carries for 94 yards (3.9 ypc)
vs. New York Giants: 9 carries for 54 yards (6.0 ypc)

It's also worth noting his best games of the bunch -- vs. Seattle, Chicago, Cincinnati and New York -- all came in huge blowout wins. Those victories were: 35-9, 36-10, 30-10 and 44-7.

My guess is that he is just going to say what he thinks is CORRECT.
He will get another analyst job if he wants. Maybe even MNF. I dont like Collinsworthless.

I think so as well. Dilfer knows the game and seems to call it like he sees it. I'd love to hear him and Gruden in the booth together.

Yeah I like Chucky too.

But... I think Chucky should be coaching and Dilfer may get some sort of coaching job if he wants.

Funny this with Dilfer... he seems to be a better analyst/theory guy than QB... not a shot at him. Just an observation. He threw some real ducks in his day. lol
