Outside of Rich Eisen's annual forty-yard dash.

Just watched Univ. of Houston's Isaiah Thompson run two 6-second forty-yard dashes (6.01, 6.04).

Now, I don't need my o-linemen to be blazers, but 6-seconds is outrageous.

It didn't even look like the guy was giving his all either. I wouldn't draft the guy.

I was impressed with Marcus Cannon. Expected a fat guy and he looks to be one of those biggest men on the planet that Parcells says you should draft. He was one of the quickest lineman to boot carrying around 358 pounds.

Cannon is quick enough to play ROT and RG IMO.

I would be proud of that 6.04. Heck , I would be proud of a 7.04.

At 358 he could play RG and RT at the same time :laugh1:

It should take a couple of extra seconds just to run around him.:laugh1:

Some GMs have said they don't even look at 40 times when it comes to offensive linemen, and I've often thought there is no point in them running the 40 at all. It's like a linebacker participating in throwing drills

Scouts look for their ten yard splits. That being said, this isn't an important drill for these guys. Bench press means more than this.

I wouldn't go as far as to say it's like a LB in QB drills. Tell that to Doug Free when he blocked for Felix Jones all the way down the field in our last regular season game against the eagles 09-10 season. Anyways, teams are looking at the 10 -yd split anyway, so I would have to disagree that the 40 is negligible for OL in the combine.

Doug Free did that once in one and a half seasons. No one that matters gives a rats rear end about something like that. It happens so rarely that it does not matter at all.

I wonder what I would run. Probably like 4.8

youd probably fake a hammy pull 10 yards in to escape from embarrassment.
