For those of you that haven't seen Randy White in recent years, check out DC.com. Dude is one of my all-time favorite Cowboys, and from the looks of him, he could probably put on the pads & whip up on a few OLs on the team. All kidding aside, White looks in incredible shape. I would say he's even more cut now than in his playing days.
He was at Desperados training camp giving some tips & an inspirational speech to the players about giving it your all & not leaving anything on the field. There's a man who practiced what he's preaching. White never took a play off, even when he was hurting from chronic pain from a foot injury later on in his career. Of course, his fight in practice with Hollywood Henderson is just one memory in his legendary career. Hollywood just wouldn't stop yapping, until the Manster showed him who "The Man" was on the team. White took Henderson down and was sitting on him before he knew what hit him. Of course, laying on the ground looking up is what more than one offensive lineman experienced when they went up against this awesome athlete who was driven by the fear of being embarrassed.
I think it's safe to say that embarrassment is not a word that was ever used in a discussion on White, unless it was concerning his opponent. While I was reading the article, I wondered why I haven't heard of him coming to a Cowboys training camp. One of the things I appreciated about BP is that he always brought some of his former retired superstars into camp to inspire the young players. I think it would be a great idea to continue that tradition by bringing in players such as White to remind younger players of the great history of this team. Also, to give some tips to players that are now playing their old position. I'm sure DWare, Ratliff, & Co. would be all ears.
