i like lynn swann but when i first looked at his stats i realized that the hall of fame is a popular vote. not a career vote. my .02
Without him Pittsburg loses to Dallas in two Super Bowls. He's a HOFmer.

How many times does it need to be stated before folks get it.

If you look at the worst guys in the Hall and use them as an argument why others with similar stats should be in the Hall, then all you do is make the Hall of Fame the Hall of Mediocre.

You just made something resembling an intelligent response, right? Didn't think so. Try again.

Comparing Swann to Timmy Smith and Larry Brown show you're stupidity. not surprising.

Punk: male convict that sucks other male convicts johnson's and has female name while in prison.

and you're a self described super one. lmao.

Are those numbers HOF worth? Probably not if you look at them in a vacuum. Look at those numbers in the context of the era, the team he played on and the influence those numbers had on those teams and you get more of an idea of Swann's worth. Add in his post season performances. He wasn't a 1 game wonder like Timmy Smith. He had many great playoff and Superbowl games. I have no problems with Swann in the HOF. Or Stallworth who I thought was slightly better. I think Drew Pearson was of equal or greater value to both those guys.

Wow. I'm blown away by your ingenious assault on my screen name.:jerk:

Timmy Smith and Larry Brown were huge parts of their respective teams super bowl victories. That was your reasoning for Swann's legit HOF induction. But, what do I know, I suck other male convicts johnson's.

How can you say that.

He never played for the Cowboys so he shouldn't be in the Hall. Period.

If one accepts that Swann is a legit Hall of Famer and I do, then Bob Hayes and Drew Pearson should be slam dunks.

Honestly, I think you can make a legit argument that Stallworth, Swann, and Pearson are all about the same player stat wise. So is three rings vs two rings enough of a difference to say Stallworth and Swann should be in while Pearson shouldn't be? Stallworth, statistically speaking, is the best of the three of them, but not by a huge amount. Pearson was probably the most consistent of them, Stallworth missed a lot of games. I guess I just don't see a lot differentiating these players other than uniform.

I saw those games, and you are right.Without Lynn Swann Dallas beats Pittsburgh in both of those games.I don't have a problem with Swann being in.I have more of a problem with Joe Namath being in.I know how significant his win in super bowl 3 was,but he didn't throw a touchdown at all in that game.I also have a problem with a QB making the hall, that has thrown more INT in his career than touchdowns.
