WR Christian Kirk traded to Texans for 7th round pick

I wonder is dallas is making calls, or waiting for calls?

I saw one game with kirk last season, and he was catching some passes. looked
ok to me.

Mingo being traded for last year in a waste of year was the stupidest thing this team could do. Let alone, he barely got on the field until the last few games of the year. To give up a 4th for that was a joke, and if the mission was to trade for a WR, any person with a brain would have waited until teams were dumping them off for next to nothing. Am I wrong? Please indulge if my hate for this team is offside

Well the difference is two years of a rookie deal vs an underperforming second contract, but it still made zero sense to do, especially when you had no idea at the time who your next HC or OC would be.

They just saw it as getting someone with a 2nd round grade for a 4th, with seemingly zero regard for the idea that draft picks often bust.

I’m not even sure this one was about playing with his toy or grabbing a headline, I really think this was about simply not being any good at being an NFL GM.

i’m surprised houston didn’t get a draft pick out of this one being that they are paying the $16 million salary for an slightly above average receiver.

My guess ........ maybe their research suggested he was going to have a strong market. A bidding war on the open market would have cost them more vs getting him for 1 year ( only 7th rounder ) and deciding later if he's worth a long-term extension. I can see the advantages of only a 7th rounder. Not to mention, it appears Dells will miss all of 2025.
Naw, I think @KingCorcoran is on the money here. Its a steep price $ wise, but its only a one year commitment. They may have had to make a multi season commitment on the open market.

In before the onslaught of why didn’t Jerry do this.

Well, actually, why didn’t he.
I think we can draft a WR with more fkk lol ex ability myself. Though you have to decide which hole you fix at 12. To me I’d fix WR and fix DT in FA. A guy like ford isn’t that expensive. There are 2-3 less expensive DT that could help this team. There is some really talented WR in this draft. Some that will be there at 12 bring more than he does and if things fell really good for us we could get a big target that has potential to be very impactful. Spend on what you can’t get in the draft and we sux at drafting DT lol
