There has been much debate about how the Cowboys should draft Tetairoa McMillan if he drops to the Cowboys 12th pick, or taking Matthew Golden at #12, or trading down a few picks and taking him in the late teens while picking up an extra Day 2 draft pick. All solid choices.

Dont'e Thornton Jr is not being talked about as much, but he has the tools and production to be just as good or better for the Dallas Cowboys. Plus, since Dont'e is under the radar, he could easily be taken in the 2nd round while the Cowboys trade down in the 1st (while picking up an extra Day 2 pick (or two)) and using that traded down 1st round pick on either a big DT, RB, LB or CB.

Check out this video breakdown of Dont'e Thornton Jr. The video creator does an excellent job breaking down his college tape and shows how Dont'e Thornton Jr would be an even better choice to pair up with CeeDee on the Dallas Cowboys...

The problem is you don’t wait to draft BPA. Running back is the exception this year because of the depth.

You don’t pass on Tet or golden and hope you land this kid

Why not? What is your argument to say Tet or Golden would be a better fit for Dak, Ceedee and the Cowboys offense?

Because you are passing on better rated talent for a slim chance he is on the board.

So you pass on Tet and Golden and your next pick comes around and somebody picks Thornton. What’s your plan? You passed on your 1-2 guys and now 3 is gone

It’s just like RB last season.

You don’t trade down if an elite guy like mason graham is there and hope you find similar talent for comparison

Ok. Let's say Thornton Jr is gone by the time the Cowboys 2nd round (44th overall) picks comes up. Well, you still have 6'4", 214 lbs, 4.47 40 ... Jayden Higgins available. You also have speedy 5' 11", 180 lbs, 4.34 40 ... Isaiah Bond available. You also have 6'4", 222 lbs, 4.48 ... Savion Williams available. You also have 6'1", 183 lbs, 4.37 40 ... Tai Felton available. You also have 6'2", 206 lbs, 4.44 40 ... Elic Ayomanor available. You also have 6'0", 205 lbs, 4.42 40 ... Jalen Royals available.

All WRs listed above ran 40 times sub-4.50 40s. Plus, they are all Day 2 slated WRs.

Notice I didn't mention Emeka Egbuka or Luther Burden III. It's because they will likely be taken somewhere in the second half of Round 1.

Regardless, it's because of Tetairoa McMillan, Matthew Golden, Emeka Egbuka and Luther Burden III that I strongly believe Dont'e Thornton Jr will be available when the Cowboys 44th pick in the 2nd round comes up.

You watched this guy and thought he could be similar to Tet McMillan? lol come on man. This guy is horrible, cant run routes, can’t catch, not physical. Tet disrespect has to stop, everyone will look back in a few years and laugh at themselves for these takes

Watch the video in my opening post. Then get back to me. Quit being disrespectful.

PS: Ask ex-WR Steven Smith what he thinks about Tetairoa McMillan. It's all over YouTube.

Clearly you’re evaluating him based on his combine performance instead of how good he is at football.
Did you watch the video in my opening post? Be honest.

Plus, averaging over 25 yards/catch, 6 TDs with only 26 receptions, and almost hitting 24 mph at top speed (not including his height, leaping ability, excellent hands (only 2 drops) a 131.7 QB rating when targeted, plus 81% rating running short routes, 87% intermediate routes and 92% deep routes) shows excellent potential when thrown to who can make plays at all 3 levels on the field.

The problem is Thornton not dropping to 44. I think this draft is going to be very unpredictable, more so than most. With the WR group not being especially great this year, someone like Thornton may go earlier than expected.

But I am completely open to the idea of drafting a speedster in the 2nd round to be the #2 behind CeeDee. Thornton is a possibility, but I do think the Cowboys are going to take Golden at 12.

Watched his highlights, couldn't be less impressed. Just because a guy is tall and fast doesn't mean he's good at WR. In fact, Jerry already spent our 4th on a guy like that.

To me someone like Higgins would fit the bill at an under the radar guy better.

I don’t need to…I’ve watched some of him and he’s a one trick pony that doesn’t know how to play the position.

There are basically zero analysts that think he’s a top 100 player.

If you think he’s a 1st rounder good for you and your bold opinion.

If you intentionally refuse to watch the video in my opening post, go waste someone else's time. Plus, I never said Dont'e Thornton Jr should be drafted in the 1st round. I said 2nd round.

Keep on keeping on!
