BingoA WR group never makes the Olines job easier.

Not if you have a stiff at QB.A WR group never makes the Olines job easier.
Football is a very simple game still. Fundamentally speaking, if you can run the ball well, lean on it, chew clock, enforce your will in key moments, it frees you up to run the entire offense, makes u play looser, more free, and keeps your defense fresh. That is exactly how football is played. Look at Philly, and when the Ravens,Niners could run it. The chiefs found out the hard way. In any decade, a dominant Oline, stud RB, and good defense in the trenches, wins ALOT of big games. Drafting a wr at 12 is a waste in my opinion. I think we can get a wr on day 2. I like Royals or the TCU kid, Jack Bech.So what happens when you run into a run stopping juggernaut in the playoffs like we have prior and teams are doubling Lamb?
It’s not that black and white…this isn’t the 70s.
KEON COLEMAN in Buffalo did not move the needle for Buffalo. He was touted by many to be a beast. So far he's a work in progress. This is one example. Conversely, Puka nucua was a udfa or late rd pick. Look what he did day 1. Moral of the story, wr might be a higher risk when you invest high draft capital in one. I want the lower risk guy at 12. More impactful guy day 1.Not if you have a stiff at QB.
But if you have a capable QB and WRs, absolutely they take pressure of the oline.
A good RB takes pressure of the oline.
Football is truly a team sport. All working to make each other better.
The only position you must have, or at least, not over pay is QB.
With the way the rules are now, passing is more important than running. But running is still important.Football is a very simple game still. How does a WR make blocking easier for the OLine??? What does the QB have to do with it???Not if you have a stiff at QB.

Dont disagree. But if we didnt have CD, Id be hard pressed to not take a WR in the first.KEON COLEMAN in Buffalo did not move the needle for Buffalo. He was touted by many to be a beast. A first round WR should go to a team who has no #1 or will be losing their #1. CDs not going anywhere anytime soon.
Ive seen many versions over the last 48 years. How does a WR make blocking easier for the OLine??? What does the QB have to do with it???
What version of football do you watch???
This wr class is good and deep. But what I would say is this, I don't see a generational type of wr. Yes we see a lot of good wrs, but no eye popping guys.I agree. Which is why it's a bad idea drafting the sexy pick at 12 with wr. Like you said, teams that lack that dude at wr 1, I can see them drafting a guy in rd 1. We need a lot and wr shouldn't be a top priority early. We have DIRE needs at CB, RB, dline, linebacker still, and need a TE upgrade. Ferguson looks Ike a jag. If we gotta get a skill position guy in rd 1, I might be leaning towards Warren or Jeanty. Outside of them, let's just upgrade the trenches or CB.Dont disagree. But if we didnt have CD, Id be hard pressed to not take a WR in the first.
I just dont think this is a great WR class. It may be deep, but lacks top end talent.
The Bengals and Chiefs went to the Super Bowl with bad OLs.A WR group never makes the Olines job easier.
The WR class is basically 1st round or bust. There are 4 guys who will be taken before our 2nd round pick then the talent falls off a cliff. This wr class is good and deep. That's sorta what I was trying to say but you framed it better. I'm ok going wr if that's what our draft board is saying. I'm a bpa guy, regardless of need or position. Ideally, Id rather trade down. The WR class is basically 1st round or bust. There are 4 guys who will be taken before our 2nd round pick then the talent falls off a cliff.
WR2 is no longer a “sexy pick” in today’s NFL. Go look at the NFC contenders and every one has a stud 2nd pass catching option.
It can happen, to your point But more times than not, it's not gonna happen that way.The Bengals and Chiefs went to the Super Bowl with bad OLs.
Again - Im all for building the trenches but a dominant OL does nothing if the rest of your team sucks. We have needs everywhere.
We don’t use FA so we have to invest in money positions early in the draft. We have a 1st round LT, a 1st round LG, a highly paid RT and a 3rd round C.
At some point you have to distribute the wealth early in the draft.
If you can't block WR's don't have time to get open. The OC has to keep the TE into block like Ferguson did last year. RB's can't go out and have to stay in to block. You can't run deep patterns, because your QB has to get it out quickly.Ive seen many versions over the last 48 years.
If you have a good passing game, it takes a guy out of the box. Teams are also less likely to blitz.
Makes running the ball easier when you do because the D is on their heels.
Basic football stuff really.
Even though they lost to the Giants in the Super Bowl their best year was when they had Moss.If you can't block WR's don't have time to get open. How many high draft picks at WR did the Patriots have?
Premium positions have always been QB, LT, Pass Rusher, and CB. Things have changed in the game they want us to see. Philly did change the narrative a bit this last year and I hope the league does not copycat them as that is just hard to copycat. All the WRs besides Lamb have at best the upside of Cedrick Wilson. Hope the defense falls asleep on them and they get 40 yards. They aren’t go to WRs when the games on the line. Tolbert had his chance. Going into year 4 he isn’t going to become CD.
The offense staying on the field helps the defense. Not just running but throwing also. Anything to avoid 3 and out.
Just having a run game with CD brings 8 in the box every snap with a safety roaming to help on CD. A true number 2 lightens the box for the run game.
100% with you. That's sorta what I was trying to say but you framed it better. I'm ok going wr if that's what our draft board is saying. I'm a bpa guy, regardless of need or position. Ideally, Id rather trade down.
Maybe, maybe not.It can happen, to your point But more times than not, it's not gonna happen that way.
