Imagine getting Bowman this year. Next year our WR group can look like this

TO
Bowman
Crayton
Hurd
Stanback

Then when TO is gone, guess who should be entering the draft..........TT WR Crabtree.....

Bowman, Crayton, and Crabtree would be a very sweet trio.

He is not a free agent.
There were reports of him wanting to be traded.

Back to the OP: There aren't a whole lot of WR prospects that really make me excited this year. I'd go with Early Doucet in the late first. He's got decent size, he's very fast, and has excellent hands/body control.

Sweed had a very good year last year, but this year I was extremely disappointed with his play. However, I did not know that he got hurt in fall practice, injuring his wrist. He played all the games this year with a bad wrist, which affects your hands and grip. No wonder he couldn't catch.

Once his wrist heals, I think he will be a very good WR in the NFL.

What is the rush?

TO will continue to be the #1 WR for a few more years.

Pick up a speed guy somewhere on the first day, not necessarily with a first, and then go after Indiana's James Hardy the following year. This kid is the real deal_size, speed, smarts and hands. He is tearing up PSU & highly touted CB Justin King right now.

The rush is....it usually takes more than a year to make a good WR in the NFL and we are out of time. I know we need help in the secondary, but I feel we simply must improve at WR to progress to the next level. Maybe Stanback is the answer but I don't see how we can count on him given his lack of playing time this season.

I don't pretend to know the right answer and for right now we can do nothing, but with 2 1st rounders we need to make the most of the opportunity. We'll see at the end of the season how we stand.

Call me nuts, but I wonder how Bryant Johnson would fair given the chance to be the #2 guy in Dallas??? I bet his price would be reasonable and he has big time talent.

intriguing, but he might not be better than Crayton

another guy to keep an eye out for is Bernard Berrian, he has speed to burn, and is a UFA after the season

Can anyone post the 40 times of our team or tell me where to go to find these numbers? I would be interested because last I heard we had some speed guys on our team alread. I wonder why we don't use them to clear the middle of the field out more. I'm just curious.
