I was at the game yesterday, and noticed on several plays, especially the first half, we put Crayton & Hurd out there rather than Owens and Glenn. It didn't appear to be due to injury.

Does anyone happen to know the reasoning behind this?

I saw the same thing. I'm sure it was because we have a game Thursday and coach wanted them to have something left in the tank. Smart move IMO. He had the same philosophy going in with JJ and Barber.

Not sure why he did that, but I remember thinking what in the #*&**#*@* is he doing.

yea probably trying to keep them fresh cause of the tough stretch of 2 games in 5 days. Glenn wasnt completely healthy i believe so they probably didnt want to work him to hard at the beginning because he did play all the 4th quarter

Were you a caller on the Norm show this morning, I swear this guy said the same thing?

he could have done it to try and preserve Owens and Glenn some, but I also thought he was doing it to see what his two backups were really capable of, giving them some more playing time and giving them their chances. We can't play 4 or 5 wide every play so why not let them work a few plays.

I agree that it was simply to get some gametime for Hurd especially.

Swapping both starting WRs out at the same time stops some of the controversy in doing so. If they would have left Glenn in but pulled Owens, the headlines would have been "Owens benched in win". This way it really stopped the ESPN distraction machine in its tracks.

It seemed like a good idea.... were those plays pass or run? If they were run then he was resting the WR's

No. Did Norm provide an answer?
At first he said that they didn't do that until the guy said he was at the game and saw that a couple of times. He never gave an answer.

Both, I believe. I think we threw to Crayton once (dropped/hit) and then to Witten. But you just can't catch too much when you are there - I am waiting for NFL Replay tomorrow.

Really? Norm is wrong - they most definitely did it. I stared at Owens @ Glenn standing near each other on the sideline with # 17 & 24 on the field.
