what do you guys think about drafting James Hardy? hes big, and has real good speed

6'6 and 4.4 speed.......what do you guys thin of him? would it be worth it?

we would be sick in the redzone with him TO, and Witten

I'd like him alot more if he hadn't knocked around his girlfriend and infant son when he was at Indiana.

Don't like to hear about anyone abusing a woman and their child but is that enough to stop me from wanting Hardy, frankly no. I'd would want to know if that was a frequent happening or one time incident and how old was he, what did police do, any counselling given/taken, etc. Not excusing in any way, but just want to ensure he doesn't do it again. Might also point out that other teams will draft him so why should Cowboys hurt themselves. Now if the NFL established a consistent league-wide policy which punishes such actions by draftees by automatically dropping them down to say the 3rd or 4th round, then that equals things out.

I'd still draft him in the first round but when the Cowboys talk to him I'd sure make it clear to him that there is a clause in his contract he better adhere to; i.e. Michael Vick. The Commish nor the Cowboys will tolerate that kind of behavior for any reason so he could find himself suspended and/or even go to jail.

I love his skill set. Really would be a tough weapon to stop. He would be a wow player on offense to me.

Doesnt matter who is available at 28 because we wont have that pic come draft day :laugh2:

I wouldn't be surprised if we only take one player in the 1st round at either #22 or #28, probably at #22. I believe we'll take someone at #22, but knowing how Jones likes to acquire additional picks, I have a feeling we'll trade down from #28 in order to try to get more 2nd round picks perhaps. Considering what we're going to have to pay some of our guys who are FA this year, trading down from #28 would probably be more cost effective in Jones eyes, IMO. However, as is always the case, we'll first have to find someone who wants to move into our spot at #28, and that may be more easily said than done though.

Are you serious? He beat up on an infant!?!?!?

Beating up a woman is one thing; they might be ablt to get to a gun or knife and fight back. But a baby has no chance at all. I'd have to look really hard at this guy before I took him, and yes, I liked him alot too, but not so much now...

Guy has character issues. Give someone like that big money and bad things just seem to happen sooner or later.

Someone posted this over in the draft zone. I'm not gonna pretend I know what he did or didn't do here, but it certainly would give me pause before drafting him:

Hardy is a solid prospect but he is more of a big-bodied possession type while we need a speed threat. I'll leave character out for now but suffice to say if he is actually guilty of what is mentioned I'd take him off the board altogether. You can ban guys from nightclubs but not from their own house.

I think he becomes more realistic if we add Berrian in FA.
Then again if we add Berrian not sure we'll use a 1st at WR.

Yeah, that's what I read also. It didn't go into details, but I read he was arrested for spousal and child battery(endangerment?). It could of been a case of hittin' his babies momma while she was holding the kid or some similar **** that caused him to get the extra child abuse charge. Don't know the details of the case though. I think he spent a week/month in the pokey for it. So, it's going to cost him come draft time. Teams parade around their #1 choice after the draft, and no team wants to be in a position where they're having to justify their pick before reporters about the character of their #1 pick. However, if we pick him at #28 then it lessen the blow somewhat, since most our #22 pick will be the player the team primarily promotes.
