WR Will Fuller

Would love to see this kid in dallas. Can fly!
The best WR in college football that nobody is talking about. Having a fantastic season.

-A 6'0 185 lb burner who stretches the field. Reportedly runs a 4.3

-Has 42 catches for 874 yards and 11 TD's so far this season.

-He and Boyd are my favorites if we go wideout early.

Thats pretty smart on him really. I won't ever say anything negative about a kid who wants to graduate. With that said, if my son was a top 100 prospect as a Jr, I would advise him to go pro every time. It's a life changing amount of money, and outside of a select few degrees, it would take half a lifetime to make the guarantees of someone drafted that high.

You can always graduate in the offseason. There is no time limit on getting an education.

Sometimes you only get one chance to play in the NFL.

Would love him in the 3rd.

Pretty much. Theres not many careers where you will get the guaranteed portion of even a 3rd Rd pick. Even if you bust out after/during your 1st 4 years, you still have the opportunity to jump ahead of your classmates with a couple million backing you up. If they were a late Rd-udfa range prospect, I would probably tell my kid to go back to school. Maybe improve your stock and still have an education waiting for you if things don't work out, which they usually don't for 6th, 7th or udfa players.

Will Fuller is a smaller, much faster Terrance Williams. Small hands, suspect hands and a body catcher.

Players like this tend to fly up the draft board as the draft gets closer.

Exactly. I think he eventually finds his place in the first round. The production is there. He is an exciting and explosive player. Someone will get enamored by his big plays and take him earlier than he should go. I think his ceiling is Antonio Brown, he's that kind of guy. His basement is Ted Ginn.

This place sometimes... He is absolutely nothing like Terrance Williams.

A lot of his catches are body catches because they're over the should catches where he cradles it--which is something I have never even seen Williams do. On hooks and screens he snatches the ball out of the air aggressively with his hands. Yes, he's had some drops, but he's not like Williams in any other way, really.

I have watched every game that Will Fuller has played in college - he is the quintessential body catcher. Here's an example of one that he should have caught with his hands that he let get into his body and dropped.

Can he catch it away from his body? Yes. So can Terrance Williams. The thing is, Will Fuller has two weaknesses - small hands, and he lets the ball get into his body, causing a lot of drops.

I have watched every game too. Does he let the ball get into his body at times? Yes. Is he this ridiculously thrown around term, "body catcher"? No.

If Terrance Williams is a body catcher, then so is Will Fuller. I'm a Notre Dame fan - I have no axe to grind on this. I call it as I have seen it - Fuller is not a natural hands catcher the way a Cris Carter, Randy Moss or Jerry Rice were. He lets the ball get into his body more often than not.

And I have argued about the body catcher label for Terrance Williams too. I have a very very hard time believing a "body catcher" could make it to the NFL, let alone become a starter.

If Chris Carter, Randy Moss and Jerry Rice are the standard for guys who haven't played a single down in the NFL yet, than everyone will look like a failure.

In his 2014 highlight video, he shows just as much ability and propensity to snatch the ball out of the air as let it get to his body (I am posting highlights, but I have watched every game for two decades).

Many of his "body catches" are either on deep balls over the shoulder, where many coaches actually tell you to cradle the ball, or on catches where he is expecting contact and "gets small". The guy definitely lets the ball get to his body some times, but I don't think it's a trait. I think it's something you could easily coach out of the kid, given how aggressive he's also shown he can be, snatching the ball with his hands. His endzone grabs in particular, show his ability to snatch the ball out of the air.

Here is his 2015 video. He has more cradle catches in this video, but also deals with a lot more underthrown balls.

I just think it's clear from the tape, the guy can and will catch with his hands when he needs to be aggressive. He does drop too many passes, but the huge plays he makes taking the top off the defense make up for it. I don't know anyone here who wouldn't take Beckham or Desean in his prime and both of those guys drop a lot of balls--they come back with huge plays though.

There may be a handful of guys in the league I would say are pure receivers, meaning they always go aggressively for the ball. Those would be Fitzgerald, Beckham to an extent, Dez (when he is on and healthy) and AJ Green. Even Julio Jones and Megatron will let a lot of balls get to his body. They're just so big it doesn't matter.
