Addition by subtraction in our conference?

Our competition -

New Orleans - Already beat them
Minnesota - Hoping Favre retires
Arizona - Warner retired
Philadelphia - Hoping McNabb gets traded to Oakland or something
New York - They beat us twice, but we were in every game, and our defense is better now than it was before. I really don't think they're a great team.
Green Bay - Beat us, but see New York.

I really see us as the favorite in the NFC now, assuming Favre retires, which is probably a big assumption. I see this time as just getting better, especially if the offense can become more production points wise and consistent (Which i believe starts up front, and then with Roy Williams).

I think next year if Favre is gone, we have a clear way through the NFC. That includes New Orleans. I'd actually put Green Bay past New Orleans next year.

Romo is poised to be the top qb in the conference if he and Roy Williams can finally reach the next level. And I really don't have much doubt about that.

Regardless of what other teams do...if we play well, we win. Pounding the Saints in NO should be evidence enough of that. It will be the same case next season.

Yea, I agree that there are not too many teams in the NFC that should be ranked ahead of us right now. This is how I would rate the NFC.......

1. Saints----they are the Champs, nuff said.

2. Cowboys---We came up a little short on the road, but roster is loaded.

3. Packers----Rogers is the real deal and is only going to get better.

(This assumes Favre retires).

Vikings are gonna go after McNabb. Other than this year he torches us more than Favre ever did and he did at his best in Chilly's scheme.

Might want to disclaimer Favre retiring and especially not acquiring McNabb. Don't care what anyone says. He gets back with Chilly, has AP pushing rocks and then those WR's? It'll get very nasty. VERY!

We won the game but we never pounded the Saints. We held onto a big lead on our heels. That team in the 4th quarter had us all hoping we could stop them on just any offensive drive.

They're supposedly in FA turmoil but this years CBA actually helps more than hurts in that cause. They will retain who needs to be retained. The best half of those FA's are not going anywhere.

More so, they can build up their defense a bit more in the right places through the draft and FA. That team will be even better next season. It's just starting to hit stride. Very young, QB's not dipping in talent for 2-3 more years and they have a coach who is ready for more.

They are the new age Colts with Jimmy Johnson Jr as their coach. Heck, maybe the new age Rams with JJ II as their coach.

Yeah, no problem. ;)

Minnesota - Hoping Favre retires

NOOOOOO!!! It will be a hollow victory if we beat them without Favruh. He needs to stay right where he is. :laugh2:

Arizona - Warner retired

Even if he hadn't, they're far from unbeatable.

Philadelphia - Hoping McNabb gets traded to Oakland or something

We beat em three times, shutting them out once, and dealing the death blow the third time. I'm not worried about the iggles with McNabb at the helm. They ain't so tough.

New York - They beat us twice, but we were in every game, and our defense is better now than it was before. I really don't think they're a great team.

Yeah, strange that. We should have won both those games. Don't think they'll sweep us next season. We have a psychological thing about division rivals. Even the skins almost beat us once. But I think the beat down on Philly was just what the doctor ordered. We're the team to beat in the NFC East right now, without a doubt. And they'll all bring their A games when they play us next season, for sure.

Green Bay - Beat us, but see New York.

This could go either way. They are pretty amazing right now. Not unbeatable by any means, though.

Yeah, I don't really think anything has to change in the NFC for us to be a dominant team. We need to tweak our O line and find a kicker and we'll be a force to be reckoned with. I am worried about our away schedule. It is a toughy this season. Home should be cake though.

Also, they *must* get past their inability to recover from setbacks and be a bit more fierce when things are going bad. If the other team scores first it seems to put them into a defeatest mindset that they have a hard time recovering from.

Otherwise, I don't think there is a team out there they can't beat, just as things stand.

haha! Yeah...the probowl was heavy in my mind as well. He was just plain awful. Was just afraid to bring it up, for fear of being flamed for using the probowl as evidence for his horrible-ness. :p:

Seriously, McNabb is not scary in any way. At least not on the field. Now if he were to challenge them to a dance off or an air guitarathon......

We have the best talent in the NFC from top to bottom of the roster. What we lack is a coach to inspire and MOTIVATE this team. It has nothing to do with X's & O's but with MOTIVATION. This team played motivated for a four game stretch this year because their backs were against the wall and they needed to avenge themselves against Philly. Our coach was unable to sustain the motivation and thus a blowout to end the season. I like our OC and WP as DC but MOTIVATION is the head coaches job and that is where Wade fails miserably.

Next year is a new year. I don't expect the new season to be easy but then I like it that way, I think to become the best you need to beat the best and the only way you do that is by playing at a high level.

So we need to improve greatly across the offensive line, get a #1 WR, and we have no kicker.

Super Bowl here we come !!

Seriously, there are a lot of good things going on in Dallas, but we also have much work to do.

True but even if we only address some of that Dallas is still talented enough on both sides of the ball to compete and challenge for a championship. For goodness sake even the SB saints have some holes in that team

The O-line HAS to improve, and we HAVE to get a reliable kicker.

I think the Oline was capable of playing better than they did vs Minn after all it was the same line that dominated Philly in back to back games but I do agree we need to look at making upgrades. As for kicker the Cowboys are already on the march trying to find a kicker, I know they have signed 1 and I would hope they will keep an open eye on others

If the Eagles were to trade McNabb, I don't think they would trade him to a team in the same conference.

As long as the O-line improves

As long as the kicker is reliable.

Any other improvements are gravy.

Our competition -

New Orleans - Champs and will be tough to beat again, they almost completed the comeback against Dallas.
Minnesota - Team doesn not scare me. They played the game of their lives, won't happen again
Arizona - No fear
Philadelphia - Non issue . Dallas owns them, and the egals know it.
New York - Once again, the Giants are a mediocre team.
Green Bay - Are in for a rude awakening when they play Dallas again. It ain't gonna be pretty.

I fear Green Bay more than any of those teams and if Favre comes back he won't last a full season, his luck is running out...
