I have to admit, I was disappointed by WWII in HD. I guess I was expecting more from it based on the hype. In the end it was just like any other WWII documentary, really.

just watching it now, and I'm proud that these actors cared enough to take the role as voiceovers

guys like Steve Zahn, Rob Lowe, Gary Sinise and even LL Cool J got in on the act, very cool

also hotty Amy Smart is doing the nurse's story

The thing that kills me is on every episode in the opening scene. The little Japanese boy shaking and being given water from a soldier.

Anyhow, the show is good, interesting seeing some new footage of WWII.

I'm not a big fan of it's... biased style. I would have much preferred it used story lines from many factions of the war, not just Americans. Any war story from only 1 countries point of view comes out biased at best. A good show regardless though, well made and they got some good voice actors for it.

what's funny about Jaws is that many believe the fisherman who got eaten in the 1st movie, was based off of a WWII sailor who survived the sinking of the Indianapolis, and his post-WWII travails as a fisherman
what's funny? That's what was said in the movie. Are you saying some people believed the movie was real?

you want to hear about how the Japanese murdered and raped 30 million Chinese?

or the 12 million victims of the German Holocaust?

how about the cowardly Italians who got conquered by their allies?

Sure I do. Why wouldn't you? Life isn't black and white, there is more than 1 side to every story. I'm not justifying or defending what was done, it was an atrocity, but just because these things happened, doesn't mean every single Japanese/German/Italian soldier is scum of the earth.

By that logic than we are "all" just as bad, or are the thousands upon thousands of innocent civilians destroyed in the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings justified because their government started killing civilians first, or because they killed more?

Perhaps you should read into some of the horrible war crimes committed by AMERICAN soldiers. Rape, murder, you name, we did it.

However, I didn't only mean I wanted a few PoV's from Axis soldiers. Russian, British, Polish, or many many others would have served as nice perspective points.

Again, the series was fantastic, I just feel it could have been better without the super pro "America, savior of the world" bias.
