Too complicated and complex. If they did a movie, it would flop as a feature release or be straight to dvd/streaming, where it could have modest success.

A franchsie reset as a film series, that could catch fire.

Star Trek DID NOT reset. Launched 6-7? movies. Even one movie (Wrath of Khan)was a part two to the tv series episode(space seed).

Good writing solves all.

And... where is it written that reboots/resets/reimaginings = catch fire.
