I have been reading Chris Claremont's X-titles since 1982 or so (on and off when he has left his writing chores on the titles) and as different as the films are from the comic medium I actually enjoyed X3. It could have been longer with better character development, and I really wanted an apearance by Gambit, but as someone said it was a good popcorn flick. I did not have high expectations going in, just looking for some relief from the reality of the real world, and the action I thought was much better than in Singers films. I hope they do make a 4th. I would give the Last Stand an 8 out of 10 as far as my own satisfaction from watching it.
Claremont had a cameo. Did you catch it?

" I dug it. I simply believe that many fans of this particular comic book will feel as if this film sells short what the X-Men are all about."

Not at all true. I knew that they couldn't do the true Dark Phoenix Saga, but the things they did do were really fun to watch.

"
THE LAST STAND is definitely rushed. There is little, if any, character development. As a result, it’s hard to care and invest in any of the characters in the film. It makes one wonder if the suits at Fox had let this thing breathe a bit and get the chance to grow, it could have been one hell of a comic book film."

I REALLY disagree with this assesment. Sure, there wasn't much character development - but the first 2 movies were full of it. If anything, the first two films did a great job of developing up to this point, at which time we knew the characters, so we got to see the drama.

Hey thanks for reading us! Hope you'll come back again. :starspin

My memory is not what it used to be, but could you imagine how silly it would have looked to have the character Dark Sied (sp? or even if that was the characters name) being in X3 concerning how pheonix came about.

Yep Stan Lee had the water hose with the water going up. Get your facts straight before trying to correct me. :)

you guys seem to know the deal, how can they "show" that scott is dead? he's come close in a comic where he is in the mts. and screams for logan and shoots his blast up, and then gets saved. so maybe that is a thing for the next movie? i mean you guys saw the "treat". so whats the deal? can any one explain this to me?

Lee has a cameo in all the Marvel films. And speaking for Marvel films, they need to chill out and quit turning 'em out so quickly. Too many have been really bad: The Punisher, Electra, F4, Daredevil, etc.
