It is still on most video torrent websites.
This will still be a big blockbuster but I wonder how much $$ they are going to lose now that who knows how many people have downloaded it.

X-Men pic "Wolverine" leaks online

Thu Apr 2, 1:49 am ET

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" made an unauthorized debut online Tuesday, even though the film isn't set for U.S. release until May 1.
Web sites described the illegal download as a nearly complete, high-quality copy, but 20th Century Fox, the studio behind the film, said Wednesday that it included temporary sound and music and was missing effects and some scenes, with other scenes unedited.
The studio issued a statement saying, "We immediately contacted the appropriate authorities and had it removed," though once a film begins circulating online, it can be difficult to stamp it out.
Because of forensic marks, the studio said it would be able to determine the source of the leak, though it did not immediately disclose it, saying: "The FBI and the MPAA (Motion Picture Association of America) also are actively investigating this crime. We are encouraged by the support of fansites condemning this illegal posting."
"Wolverine," a spinoff of the Fox/Marvel "X-Men" franchise, stars Hugh Jackman and is directed by Gavin Hood. Its international rollout kicks off April 28, and it will have opened in most territories worldwide by May 1.

Nearly every big movie leaks online. They won't lose anything significant from it.

No, they don't. I have been downloading movies for a while now and you can't get this high quality of a movie before it is even released in any theater.

Low quality, cams, screeners and telesyncs come out but this one is pretty close to DVD quality.

On one site that I get a few movies from, there have already been over 37,000 people that have downloaded it. That could be almost $300,000+ in loss of profits for a $9 movie. There will be no stopping this torrent from spreading either, they'll take one down, and then another user will upload again.

There have been a few exceptions where I got 88 minutes and Taken about 1-2 months before they hit theaters.

I started watching it online very late last night but fell asleep not too far into it. If i get a chance to finish it, that will keep me from going to the movie theather to watch it or renting it unless i'm so blown by it that i want to watch it again.

Well, then you obviously don't have access to the torrents that we do. We saw the theatrical version of Gran Torino before it was in the theater. Many others, too, but that one is the most recent.

Oh I saw it before it was in theaters too, a couple days before, not a month before. What torrent site(s) do you use then?

Oscar noms or potential oscar noms alwalys leak very early because of the amount of DVDs sent out to academy members for reviewing purposes. But besides that, rarely will a DVD quality rip release this early. Normally a high quality rip won't release until maybe a few weeks before the DVD is released. Now, I don't have membership to any exclusive torrent sites, I just dl off of the standard stuff: demonoid, piratebay, mininova, etc.

If I wanted to watch something as poor as DVD quality I'd download it. But I won't, so I'll just go to the theater. Now, Angels & Demons...I might suffer through DVD quality on that one, but will still most likely just rent the Blu-Ray.

From what I heard, it's so unfinished (no CGI) you'd have to see it in the theater to even grasp what its like.

Fox also reshooted the hell out of it. This leak is dated before the reshoots. The workprint that got leaked has about 20 minutes missing from it too.

meh, there hasn't really been a whole lot of that stuff. Movie still seems pretty good. I didn't put what you said together with what it would actually look like until I saw the clouds.

Movie looks like it will be bad *** once finished.

Dude, but did you see the ending with all the crude unfinished CGI? It was funny as hell. All the wire work when they would jump was funny too.

Just wanted to revive this thread with some new info. Apparently the workprint and the theatrical release are identical movies, just with finished cgi.
