X-Men Spinoff ‘Deadpool’ to Hit Theaters Feb. 12, 2016

Fox and Marvel have slotted “Deadpool,” their long-in-development “X-Men” spin-off, for Feb. 12, 2016.

Ryan Reynolds, who portrayed the character in 2009’s “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” has been expected to star for many years, although no deal is in place.

Tim Miller is directing the superhero film with Lauren Shuler Donner and Marvel’s Kevin Feige producing.

The talkative mercenary character, also known as Wade Wilson, was created by artist Rob Liefeld and writer Fabian Nicieza. He first appeared in print in 1991.

If Reynolds does reprise his role in the film it would mark his first superhero project since “Green Lantern,” which floundered at the box office in 2011.

But its totally understandable after that last.....ummmm super hero movie.......

Marvel may flip it like they're doing "Gambit" from what I heard Channing Tantum is taking on that role, after Taylor Kitsch played him in the "Origins". For marketing purposes they may want to consider that...... (also from DC to Marvel can be confusing....... I know B. Singer got kicked off X3 for taking Superman Returns)

This might be a good movie. Reynolds, is like a C+ actor, who people think is an A lister, and that is why, I think his movies do not do well. He is a good supporting guy, sometimes he can take the lead in a movie, like that one movie where he was a political consultant, and safehouse.

As for Gambit, I love me some Taylor Kirsch, especially in that Mars movie. I HATE when they recast people.

Ehhh, pass on Reynolds please! even though it looks pretty certain and even fits Deadpool's personality. Really just don't want his stigma affecting any possible success there (people will say, wasn't he "Green Lantern or something, and it sucked?". I always thought Deadpool was funnier when he is slightly toned down to the Archer level humor. Still heavily arrogant and self serving, less fart humor.

I heard he wanted to do both.... but Marvel Studios was opposed... so he left.... and they replaced him with Brett Ratner, who's horrible (singer had done some pre-pro already)... But I guess you can call it mutual... but I think if it was up to him, he would have done both....

But again... that's just what I heard....

Renolds is a good choice.. but who cares.

If it's in the same canon as Xmen Origins.. then paaaaaaas.

In before he doesn't have a mask or constantly takes it off. in before he's way too much of a "good guy". In before he's not crazy and darn near immortal.

Not interested in this movie int he slightest, I like Deadpool too much and if Renolds in Origins was any indication of waht to expect.. yeah. No.

Are you sure Marvel Studios had a say? I know Fox has the rights to X-men, Disney owns Marvel Studios, it might of been a Fox thing.

I agree. It was kinda weird seeing quicksilver in X-men, than seeing him again at the end of Capt Am.... & from what I heard.. they can't even mention that they (scarlet witch) are "mutants" in the next avengers...... silly studio politics......

The only defense I will give to Ratner is that the studio gave him a crazy short time to get the movie done. When you rush things the way they did then it is going to hurt the product no matter who is directing. Ratner just made matters worse.

Reynolds is perfect for deadpool. He has been privately pushing this movie for a WHILE.

So before you bash him, remember he is the reason this movie is being made.
