Teams seems to believe in the development of Xavier Woods.
He seems like he was showing adjustment and progress by season's end.
One of the elements you like to see in a safety is a knack for always being around the action,
(in both vs pass and run)..the other is making plays and finishing when he gets to that action.
Whether a safety is driving and makes jump into the passing lane or feasting upon an errand overthrow, you'd like to see that safety making the INT.
One of the areas that has been really hurting this defense is a lack of ability to create turnovers.
We maybe one of the NFL's worst at that.
I tend to think Xavier has those kind of turnover ability (he was big on that at college level) and I already think he is a great deal more instinctive and ball hawk oriented than the previous starting FS (Jones)
He's not the biggest or fastest guy around (he still looks like he's more 185 pounds than his listed 200 pounds) he will throw his body into a pop hit if he can get a bee-line momentum going.
But I do wish he becomes a much stronger wrap up tackler rather than sliding, falling off too many tackles.
I do like that he shows the ability to match up vs slots and athletic TEs, such as we have in the NFC East (Ertz, Gobert, Ingram, Vernon davis, Reed, etc)
I do hope in due time, that Xavier will develop not only into a top playmaker but also a savvy leader of the secondary
