XBox 360 sports games

[Fletch]

For you sports nuts who enjoy gaming, what do y'all recommend? I have Madden 15, but want to expand my sports collection. I've been thinking about getting the new FIFA game, but also wondered about the new NBA game as well.

Any recommendations?

For 360 and football, I enjoyed Madden 10 and 12. Also, I liked NCAA football 12.
Most recent game that I think is a must have is Fifa 14 World Cup Edition.

Other games I thought were fun but old are SSX, NBA Street Homecoming, Fifa Street 4 Blitz the League, All Pro 2K8, NCAA Basketball 10 and MLB Bigs

I actually just got NHL 15 for Xmas myself.

But I was playing NHL 11 until Xmas Eve. I was wayyyy deep in a couple of franchises (15+ years). My old 360 kept scratching games so I went through 3 copies of 09. I can't pimp that series hard enough.

I'm not a big hockey fan in general, but when it comes to gaming, all that goes out the window. I think it's going to come down to FIFA or NHL.

FIFA is great, but, to be honest, I think the gameplay gets pretty stale whereas NHL is consistently fast. Granted, I'm a hockey fan, but thats my .02

That is exactly what I thinking. Good to hear someone else state it too. FIFA soccer is a spread out game that can wear you out. NHL is fast paced as soon as the puck drops. I'm now seriously leaning towards NHL hockey.

Is it through EA Sports?

I'm a franchise mode kind of guy. So hopefully if I snag the NHL game, the franchise mode will be pretty cool.

Yea, it's EA. I haven't really been able to dive into franchise mode yet on 15, but historically, Fifa and NHL franchise modes are pretty similar. I think the best part of NHL is that, once you've played 5-6 seasons, you start to see guys who were drafted a long time ago start to make an impact in the league. Eventually, if you get as deep into franchise mode as I do, you'll have all guys that you drafted and watch play in juniors and then the AHL before getting in the NHL. I think it's a lot deeper and more fun than Madden in that regard.

2k15 is good. I have it for the PS4 but I played some on PS3 and it looks the same as 2k14 for 360 or PS3. I think it is a good game if you can find it on sale. I don't think it is worth the $60. I think 2K11 was the best NBA 2k in that generation.

DO NOT get NHL 15 on the Xbox 360. It will be your biggest waste of money ever. On last generation consoles, it is the same exact game as NHL 14. The major upgrades were only present on the PS4 and Xbox One systems. Last gen users got screwed. To save money, buy NHL 14. I take it you aren't a die-hard fan of hockey, so you won't be disappointing in last year's rosters. That's the only difference besides a new play by play announcer.
